Fun spin combining a deckbuilder and turning it into a political and comical fight. The artwork and soundtrack were my favorite parts. Gameplay is good, but has some balancing issues IMO, however, I'm sure it's still being balanced, however, the game feels too easy even on the hardest difficulty for the Ogre, however, I had major problems getting through the first few elections with the zombie character (I'm sure it's a skill issue). The random events, are interesting and fun to deal with at first, however after the 2nd playthrough, seeing the same ones repeatedly, and some of them being so brutal, got a bit frustrating at times. It kept my attention for around 10 hours, however, I feel like after a few runs, I seen everything I was going to see from it. Ultimately, I would recommend it, I feel like there's the makings of a really good game here, and if they continue to add content, this could absolutely become a sleeper hit for me.

Prime Monster marinates in the mistrust of modern political matters. With said mistrust it has managed to manufacture a delightfully ghoulish form of gameplay. Much like the haggling of Potionomics cards the use of cards to rally your political allies and dissuade adversaries is enthralling. The only criticism I have of the game is I felt more than pleased with my purchase of this title after 2 hours and only wish that they make a sequel where the focus is on a very short campaign rather than expanding the value with randomized replayability. To the developers. I hope you are incredibly proud of what you made. I eagerly look forward to your future endeavors and only hope that you are confident that your writing makes even just a single playthrough worthwhile. To others, I should note I predominantly enjoyed this game on a Steam Deck. It felt perfectly comfortable using a mouse on it. And with the reason addition of a speed mode it has made this game even more perfect to enjoy on a lunch break at work.

Extremely fun roguelike politics simulator. There's a good, satisfying amount of content, though I'd certainly welcome more playable characters! Getting past higher difficulties with the existing ones is already well-worth the purchase price. VERY fun, well-designed game.

Interesting and unique mechanics and a whimsical premise. Good and humorous writing, too.

This is a unique roguelite set in "Monster Politics". I thought the setting was a gimmick but this is a solid game. I love it but the game has a ceiling however- I don't see anyone playing this for 100 hours plus. Great depth, lots of decisions to make, difficult in a good way- its great.

The game is wonderful, at first. Then it turns to utter frustration. It is clear the devs put a slew of balance into the Orcs, some into the Vampires, but none into Zombies. For example, while leveling up one of my cards as the Zombies one of the presented option was the same card, with the same stats, just with 1 additional political power if you consume it. The other choice had the same political power, the same stats but also added unity. Why!? On top of that, early game events are boring. Most times you have only one option because you do not have resources to make a choice. I'm honestly surprised they haven't forced a soft-lock on the player by one event removing both choices from a following event. Generally speaking, there's one viable tactic each and you better hope you stumble onto it straight away! Checking the discussion board for this game there are multiple posts describing the tactic for some of these factions. "Hope you get X faction opposing you and Y tactic to start, or just reroll." Don't get me wrong. The game, oozes style. The premise is great! The moment-to-moment gameplay on Orcs is what drew me in. But seeing how poorly the early game is for the other two factions, this simply needs more time to cook.

I bought this game 20% off but I would've happily paid full price. A wonderfully charming deck-building roguelike with an exceedingly novel premise and competent execution. Very excited to see this games future!

Prime Monster is a very fun game that I found myself playing on my Steam Deck on car rides. It's uniqueness and the fact that you aren't playing as a human are also a plus. I only have one complaint, and it's that I can't play as the pathetic scarecrow.

It's fun, but unlike most card games, you only have a few working builds for each playable character. Once you figure those out, it's pure RNG to create these engines that work. You'll restart a couple times trying to get your engine running, and then once you get it going, you're unstoppable. The game gets boring relatively fast... you don't unlock anything for winning besides more difficulty. Which simply means the stakes are higher and you need better RNG. Which means more restarts trying to get your preferred cards and nothing else. Skill is probably 20% of the equation. It would be fun if they had more cards and they allowed you to customize your deck. But as is, it's a very limited game. It's fun for probably an hour or so.
