If you know Elemental War and Elemental War 2, this one will feel familiar right from the beginning. It's a decent, complex TD. You'll love it if you like the genre.

Game is abit different compared to part 2 if you played that one because you build on a grid now instead of freely, but feels pretty ok. Seems to look better even though it uses mostly the same gfx, but they added some neato fx like fog and such. Gameplay wise didn't change much so if you liked the previous one you'll also like this one. It's pretty low intensity most of the time but difficulty can really spike if you don't keep up with damage output and board cleaning. Feature wise there's a map editor now which is pretty cool and there's scenarios you can try instead of just the sandbox mode. Yeah.

The game is like a classic TD, it's fun for casually playing from time to time. I played the previous parts and it's like a remake of EW1 but incorporates visual and gameplay improvements from EW2. There's many towers and elements which can be confusing as many do similar things but I like the new scenarios besides a few that kinda felt unbalanced like the straight line one. But I recommend it if you want to relax with a chill game from time to time.

This tower defense game is very well made. It also has several difficulties so no matter if you look for some easy playthrough or difficult challenge, give it a try. It also has scoreboards, pvp and is mostly skill based.

Clockwork Origins does it again. I loved Elemental War 2, if you played it, this is more of it. The formula works and is a ton of fun. I totally dig the leaderboards, haven't actually tried any of the online modes, but I love the tower variety and how calm it is in single player.

I really like the concept, and the different game modes are genuinely fun. But the reason I can't recommend it is that anyone who's even slightly familiar with tower defense games will quickly run into performance issues that make the game nearly unplayable. The sound starts bugging out getting louder, overlapping, and becoming a total mess. But the real problem starts when you reach higher waves with lots of towers and enemies. The game just can’t handle it. You're stuck with extremely loud, distorted audio and a framerate that drops to around 5 FPS. Because of all that, I ended up refunding the game. Hopefully, future updates will fix these issues, because it honestly has a lot of potential.

There is something relaxing in playing a tower defense game for sure. Brings back some good old childhood memories. Building towers, planning out which tower combinations work best together and then watching them kill waves andwaves of monsters - perfect. And Elemental War Clash does that well. For what it is, I certainly do enjoy playing it. Let's start off with the visuals. They're not too overwhelming, which is good. Towers are decently recognizable, the terrain giving off nice fantasy vibes, monsters a bit generic but at least there's a variety of them with different visuals. Some of the biomes make me feel like actually walking around as a fantasy RPG character! Considering this is, from what I recall, the third game in the series, maybe that's something to think about for the future? Maybe expanding the universe beyond just tower defense? I'd love to try that and I know small studios like these like to innovate. My biggest issues so far were with the game interface. And I don't mean the visuals, more like the actual UI/UX interaction. Sometimes it's hard for me to figure out how much an upgrade costs, which towers have items on them etc. Even moving around the menu. Not everything is very intuitive. I also noticed quite a few small 'glitches' related to the UI, although nothing game breaking. Second issue is the world building. I enjoy that maps have some slight dialogues, but I feel like there's a missed potential in not putting more effort in the lore. Would be great if there was more known about the world, the characters, the monsters. And the potential of having a nice tower defense world franchise is here. But considering that this is a small game made by a small game studio, it's very enjoyable and I'd gladly recommend it - especially tower defense fans. I am looking forward to trying out the multiplayer mode in the next days too.

So here we are... Elemental War Clash. This is a great Tower Defense game and the 3rd Elemental War Title. Like the other Elemental War titles, you enhance towers with up to 3 elements. There are 7 different elements to choose from (air, fire, earth, electricity, shadow, water, and nature.) This allows for over 60 different towers and the can be updated to 3 different levels. The gameplay is easy to learn. You start with a basic ballistic tower; as the game progresses, you can call out an element (or have the elements called randomly.) After you kill the element or it leaves the map, you can start adding that element to your towers to upgrade them. You can call each element out on to the map three times. To upgrade towers frank rank 1, 2, or 3, you need 1, 2, or 3 of the respective elements destroyed. In addition, every time you kill an element, it drops an item as well. there are over 80 different items and they operate in different ways. Some items add a global bonus for you such as increased damage, slower monsters, or less expensive tower building. Others can be placed in towers to add splash and AoE damage, increase attack speed, or even double the amount of shots a tower fires. Some items have a cooldown and can damage every critter on the board, or slow/stop them or even temporarily affect every tower to increase damage or speed. The game has nearly 40 different maps, 12 scenarios to teach you how to play, 3 different game modes (hero, classic, and survivor), and 5 different difficulty levels. It has multiple features including a leaderboard for each map, online pvp and co-op, random map generator, map editor, and the ability to share your custom maps with others. The game supports native linux and I have not had any issues using Linux Mint 22. I know the game can use a controller and works on a steamdeck, but I admit I barely touched it on my deck as I much prefer keyboard/trackball for controls. Overall, I highly recommend Elemental War Clash, it is a worthy successor to the prior games. While easy to play, all the towers and items make it difficult to master. If you are a TD fanatic you will love it, and the map editor and random element selection adds a lot of replayability to the game.
