Honestly when this originally launched it was unexpected, as Relic had already gone full steam on multiplayer focus at this point and a single player campaign seemed like the last thing they would do. Despite the criticism it had received, I actually that it was really fun and worth the $20 asking price. My only real complaint about it was the gutting of Fox Company, who is just straight up overpowered and selling it as an additional DLC for $5. Would have been much better as an unlock for the campaign considering how easy it is to steamroll with them. It was a very well made campaign, very interactive, and had special unlocks you could get for multiplayer such as special bulletins and vehicle camos for the US Forces as well as some faceplates for your player profile. All in all I genuinely thought it was a worthwhile purchase.
The reason the review is negative, however, is just like the original CoH2 single player campaign as well as the Theater of War scenarios, this campaign has become completely broken due to the updates to multiplayer that interfere with any units they share. In a recent attempt at playing, I encountered numerous issues such as units being unable to ever be called in (Pathfinders for Able Company, as an example, can never actually be called in, its permanently locked because its impossible to fulfill the criteria to unlock them.) to a literally unkillable tank in a special mission that required kills done with abandoned vehicles around the map, resulting in me losing because it refused to die and kept killing my units.
I'm not even sure if you still get any of the unlocks because that was before the whole supply and in game store system, so for all I know now you are only purchasing a campaign that doesn't even work properly, and given the current state of CoH as a series I highly doubt they are ever going to fix it. They never updated the original campaign either. It's a shame, it was actually really well done.
