I've been looking for a good WW1 RTS game for a while, and I've been a fan of Men Of War for a few years now. I picked this up on sale and that's the only real way I can suggest you play it. With a name like "Battle of Empires" I was expecting charges across No Man's Land or rolling over German Trenches in the first tanks, and that is here...kind of. What I ACTUALLY got was a bunch of campaigns that were bizarrely scattered with small squad stealth missions, and to be honest I have NEVER been a fan of stealth missions in RTS games. it CAN be satisfying to sabotage the enemy's stuff then join the battle later and enjoy the results of your sabotage, but I find it very tedious to sit around waiting for guard patrols. The melee combat is also VERY janky and it seems to be a coinflip if your soldier will one-hit kill the guard or just knock him around a bit, and if that happens it's ANOTHER coinflip to see if he or the sentry will hit back first. The throwing knives also only work about 80% of the time, but I like to use manual control to throw those so your experience may very.
TL;DR: Buy the game on a sale if you REALLY want a WW1 RTS, is filled with a LOT of long, boring, janky stealth missions. Multiplayer/skirmish is OK.

This is genuinely god-awful. You know that gigantic battle going on over there? On the other side of the map? With all those cool guns and equipment because it's the WWI? And there's a bunch of them? Cool, right? Here's 6 riflemen with no ammo, go destroy the tanks around them while you get laser sighted by MG fire. Do everything that they should be doing, but they'll get blasted while your officer is delivering the worst voice-acted monologue imaginable. It was funny until I realized how much this game blows. Just mod Assault Squad 2.

I only recommend it for nostlgic & for old RTS style funs
Overall i would recommend this game for any player who wants a good world war 1 strategy game and wants a good sequel to the men of war original.However this game is still undergoing developing so many things are prone to change to better (or to worse).
