I'm absolutely addicted to this game. The sheer scale and depth of exploration are incredible—I just can't stop playing! Every time I boot it up, I discover something new, whether it's a breathtaking nebula, a distant exoplanet, or an entire galaxy waiting to be explored.
For anyone who loves space, this is easily the best $40 I've ever spent. 10/10, an absolute must-have!

This isn't even a game and i'm shocked this has overwhelmingly positive reviews. It's not even a game, it's an app and all you do is look around at different planets. Huge waste of $30.

If you couldn't see that interesting astronomical event that occurs once every few decades or lifetimes very well, you can set the time and date, look outwards from Earth, and have the game point out the exact object in the sky.
You can explore around and see amazing parts of the universe.
Runs well, no crashes, high quality graphics, great in VR.
Easy recommend!

I remember playing this years ago when the project was still in its early stages. It has improved drastically since and is a technological marvel. If you have even the slightest interest in space or exploration in general, there is literally unlimited content for you to explore in this detailed simulation of our universe.

I really recommend buying this little space game. I'm a space and astrophysics fan and i have never seen a game from this genre that has been this detailed. This is the best space game for relaxing or just exploring. Nobody can change my mind about that

This isn't really a game per say, it's more of an exploration simulator that gives you the entire universe to check out on your own time. You can go literally anywhere in the cosmos that you want to see, and it's all in stunning realistic detail. To me this is what I feel is missing from a lot of modern space exploration games, is the sense of wonder and freedom you have to go out and explore space and all that it has to offer. Most space games I've played so far restrict you to only certain areas, are just loading screens of when you want to land on a planet (Starfield), or they're restrictive to a point where you can't even leave your own ship (Elite Dangerous). This however to me is how I feel it should be done, It isn't so much about finding animals and loot but just seeing the beautiful landscapes and sights on other worlds.
Another thing I really love about Space engine is that it gives you the tools to actually do a bit of your own world building, and since a lot of what you find is procedurally generated, you will come across something new all the time. I've had a lot of fun finding different alien worlds, landing on them to see what they're like, and writing up entire bits of lore regarding said worlds.
Space Engine is absolutely Incredible, If you are someone who loves Astronomy, this is the perfect program for you!

Played countless hours of the free version 0.9.7.2, but decided to pick up the Steam version for all the additions over the years and to support the dev. Needless to say, the Steam version is worth it to pick up. These devs know what they’re doing and have continued to update the game since 2014. That’s commitment!
