Absolutely disgusting amount of gameplay even before you get into the fan-made levels. You will never finish everything.

Okay I don't know about "best puzzle game ever", but it's definitely one of the "best puzzle games you've never played". DROD doesn't adhere to the more elegant design ethos of modern puzzle games, it's a bit more messy and meandering. But that's okay, because the puzzle design is still top notch, it feels totally fresh and original despite its age, I can't believe I hadn't heard of it before. It's easy to see why it's had an active community for over 20 years!

Gunthro and the Epic Blunder is an absolute joy of a puzzle game, and I would recommend it to anyone who's patient and willing to figure out some mind-bending puzzles. The soundtrack is lovely, and the mechanics are simple to learn, difficult to master. It's a great beginner's introduction to the DROD series, but it doesn't hold your hand for too long. The difficulty ramps up slowly and consistently. My only complaint is that the story is a little light, and it doesn't really have a resolution (which ends the game on quite the sour note!). If you give it a play, try not to get too invested in the plot.

If you have never tried DROD, you're missing out. In addition to the main games there are (approximately) one quadrillion user-made levels which are mostly worth playing. For the price of this game you're getting hundreds if not thousands of hours of gameplay.
