Best RTS i've ever played. And I love Age of Empires, and the early Dawn of War Games. This game really is a masterful fusion of RTS and RPG. Highly recommend.

Had spellforce 3 in my library for years and put off playing it thinking it'd be an average experience. I couldn't put this game down after starting it. Voice acting, story, music, and setting are phenomenal.

Just finished the game, I really liked it. After finishing Spellforce 1 its an extra good game. I played it on normal, took around 40 hours. On higher difficulty you have lower resistances and the enemy pours units on you like hell. Some players hate to play like that because you are always on the backfoot but thematically it makes sense as you are "hunted" through the game. Normal is a lot easier and manageble.(Last few maps I didn't even need army to wreck my enemy just my 4 heroes). Graphics - Overall I liked it but needed some time to adjust. The loot is sometimes hard to see on the ground but overall solid. Music - I loved the game. Voice Acting - Its solid , I liked it. Most characters were pretty good.

Well, since there is no points-system in Steam reviews, I have to stick to "yes/no" whether recommend this game or not. And I'd rather not recommend it for playing nowadays. It's not that bad, but its drawbacks outweigh any positive moments the game might have. The main feature of the SpellForce series has always been the fusion of RPG and RTS, and in this case both the aspects aren't great. The devs failed to focus on both of them at the same time and provide a decent quality with detailed and interesting gameplay, which resulted in them being mediocre at best. The RTS part is especially weak with mostly bland missions and similar tactics. As for RPG, the story, at first, is kinda intriguing, but then becomes pretty shallow and overall poor-written. Most maps are huge, but quite empty with some chests scattered around and occasional NPCs waiting for a player. The maps could've been shrunk easily with no loss except they wouldn't be fit for RTS gameplay then. So, in RPG mode they're boring to explore, while RTS mode is not that exciting to play by itself. Add to that quite inconvenient interface and controls (camera, inventory sorting, active skills quickbar, absence of pause even in dialogues to name but a few). I was about to drop the game due to becoming bored, but sill completed the last missions out of sheer force of will, and that's not the experience a good game should invoke in a player. Should also mention some good sides of SF3R which are: locations are not bad, visually; full voice acting (but not all actors performed well enough tho).

Really goofy for a remake. Enemies barely react to hits and animations are poorly made. Dubbing is quite cringe and UI is a mess. Nice graphics though.

SpellForce 3 + Expansions. ------------------------------------- A Throwback Done Right I grew up with the original SpellForce games and I can honestly say SpellForce 3 feels like coming home. From the moment the music starts you get that same warm feeling of the old days. The mix of RTS and RPG is still here and it works just as good as before. You build your base, gather your army, then go on a quest with your hero. The story is solid and has enough twists to keep you going. It respects the lore from the older games without just copying it. The maps are well made and full of small details to explore. The voice acting is good and fits the tone of the world. The UI takes a bit to get used to but after a while it feels natural. Then there are the expansions. Soul Harvest adds new factions and a darker tone to the story. Fallen God brings a fresh point of view and new mechanics. Both expansions make the world feel bigger and more alive. They do not feel like afterthoughts but real parts of the game. The devs clearly cared about keeping the SpellForce soul alive. Yes there are some bugs here and there but nothing game breaking. If you loved the first SpellForce you will feel right at home here. It is like meeting an old friend and seeing they still got it. Enjoy the game.

This game is nothing short of amazing. An interesting mix of RTS and RPG two genres I really love, this game offers an excellent campaign when it comes to characters which are very impressive and interesting, voice acting and story, it's a long campaign (which is great) with a lot of content and lore offered with excellent map designs and soundtracks. The campaign can get a bit tiresome on harder difficulties which can be easily resolved by changing the difficulty anytime you want, with no achievements related to that which by itself is really comforting. The PVP mode is also a lot of fun, the base factions are nice and the matches can get pretty intense. Spellforce 3 Reforced is a solid game with a great campaign and good PVP gameplay. I definitely recommend it! Specifically for anyone that appreciates great solo campaigns (which can be played in coop also) and enjoys Fantasy games.
