Enjoyable, though challenging, combination of TD and card game with roguelite mechanics. Could use some polishing and QoL imprevements, but definitely good on sale.

I am disappointed. This is a re-release of Gaia Trek, which first aired on August 23rd 2023. The game got removed because of the ban of the publisher BD Games. The developer tried to make everything right by promising to give out keys of the re-release to owners of the original game. They/he/she gave out some keys but most users are still waiting for their keys and are not amused as everyone can check in the discussion board here on Steam. For me this feels shady, as about 50 games were removed because of BD Games and I own 4 of them. I sent mails to each of them, half of them replied within a week and sent out keys and other half never replied after more than 5 weeks. Also no patches since re-release, so it might be abandonware.

I don't recommend this game. Although I enjoyed this type of tower defense gameplay, it's just not executed well in my opinion. It doesn't really improve from the demo. Some of my issues: - some text is still in Chinese, - some explanations make no sense, - no clear notification when your cards die, they just disappear, - small and uninteresting meta progression skill trees, - too many (similarly looking) buildings, you quickly get lost, - so many different items and resources, but you always search where to produce X or where to get Y from, it's a chore, - if a wave has too many enemies at once and your units are quickly losing hp, then it's basically game over, even with medical cabin, - units dying is a really big loss, especially if you upgraded that unit multiple times.

Delightful bit of fun with great replay value! This game hits the difficulty-curve sweet spot where I get a good deal farther each time I play, but I still discover new stuff and get "overwhelmed" at the end of each run. It's "tower defense" the same way that plants vs zombies is tower defense - you have rows and ranks of defenders, and the enemies come down in columns - but the production/resource management has a LOT more going on. The beginning of the game has a good progression guide in the form of a checklist and info pop-ups, but the biggest missing piece in terms of tutorial is a closer look at the stats of monsters on your team: which icon is attack, which icon is range, especially. I was a few runs deep before I was able to fold that info into my strategy. Mechanics like reclaiming cards and using the recycle bin are a little hard to understand, too. I wish the UI was a little more full-featured and had key commands for snapping the view to the battlefield, the core, or a full zoom out. Also larger mouse-overs when I'm zoomed out would be nice, too. But none of these nitpicks are going to stop me from coming back again and again to make it to the final boss and beyond. The core gameplay design is great.
