A fun, hella-stylish 2D action platformer with a fairly classic control scheme. There's a lot of love and soul poured into the animations and characters. Its absolutely over the top, and worth checking out.

Great game but it's very unstable and locked to 30 frames per second and due to that the controls feel like ass and it somehow causes weird hitboxes. probably because physics and other mechanics are tied to fps from the patch I used. It's highly recommended to play with a mouse and keyboard because on top of finicky controls aiming with a controller is very awkward probably because of the issues listed above I also heard above 30 fps it gets very buggy with softlocks

Janky controls and integration. Weird option parameters. The game barely explains itself. Might be your jam, definitely not mine.

Cant really recommend this game. The game is not all that bad and is fun but I can not recommend it at full price with how the controls are. -Controls are clunky. -Controls do not respond as fast as they should. There are many times when I try to swap weapons or move and the game does not respond in time or would just not respond at all. This is bad for a game that is trying to be fast paced. -Your character stops moving when you land after jumping. -Money is to low with the prices of item being way to high.

I had been following the development of this game for years on the dev's twitter, excitedly waiting for its release, so I am torn to say the game feels miserable to play at the moment. 30 FPS lock is one thing, which can make precise dodging frustrating, but mixed with the already choppy, slowed down aiming and the camera snapping being lightning fast once your aiming reaches the other side of the screen (which is very uncomfortable and dealing with enemies coming from multiple directions very, very annoying and difficult), it overall makes the game a pretty infuriating gameplay experience. It's very unfortunate, as the game's visuals are really, really pretty and charming, bustling with as much soul as the original Metal Slug games, combined with a more tactical police aesthetic, which is what brought my attention to the game's development in the first place (that, and the dev being the same as Orangeblood, another game known for very charming art but unpolished game mechanics.) If there is eventually an official 60 FPS patch and a slightly more polished camera (I can see the screen shake getting old and dizzying pretty quickly, as others have found) and aiming, I'll look into getting this again, but regrettably I will refund it for now.

The art style of this game is great, and the combat is pretty good, but the real drawback is that the game is locked to 30fps. This makes the controls feel really slow and clunky so your dodges often miss and aiming properly is difficult. If the Devs come out with a 60fps patch then I would say this is an easy recommend, but for now I will refund it.

The art is great, the problem is how terrible I feel controlling and looking at the game, the game runs at very low FPS and when you move camera it gives you motion sickness, swapping side really gives me a sickness that can make me puke. I wished they have higher refresh rate and better analog aim/moving. Also Lossless scaling doesn't work and I don't know why. There's no display or graphic option either.

A 2D sidescrolling shooter that's all about blowing up copious amounts of bots with your firearms and explosives. Movement is about what you expect, plus 360 degree aiming you'll need to take advantage of to hit targets at different elevations and target weak points on enemies to take them down effectively. You move slowly but you do have a jump and roll that are vital to avoiding enemy fire, which can be tricky to do as you're also trying to line up a good shot. What you're doing also influences your damage, in short usually crouching gives extra damage and jumping reduces it, depending on your weapon. You have an expanding arsenal of weapons to choose from, plus sub weapons like knives and mines that are very effective when used appropriately. Add in how chaotic things can get with multiple enemies present and you have fights that can get pretty exciting. Although, while there are a number of weapons it does feel like there could be more done to distinguish them. The cursor based controls were also somewhat wonky, you can't use mouse and controller controls simultaneously (mostly only applicable to the Deck really), plus you can't rebind controls natively, but at least the "Instinct" setup works fine if you're playing with a controller. In terms of presentation, you have nice pixel art with an anime leaning that's a pleasure to look at overall. It also does a good job in terms of destruction effects, blowing up machines big and small is satisfying to watch and listen to. The game is capped at 30FPS and can have some framedrops (on my Steam Deck at least, with really busy fights) which is unfortunate but tolerable. The story missions have light plot and worldbuilding that is fun for what it is. Overall I can strongly recommend it if you're in the market for a 2D shooter with cute girls.

I really wanted to like this game because of the neat visuals and sound design, but I unfortunately can't, since those are the only redeeming qualities of this game. If you, the reader, are even slightly interested in the game, it's worth looking into it yourself for the cheap price, so you can form your own opinion. Here are my critiques I found out by playing the main story twice and then the extra missions. • Visual clutter. There's occasionally so much stuff happening on the screen that it's difficult to see what's going on, especially with the screen shake. Enemy bullets are the same color as the players, which complicates things further. This was figured out 20 years ago in arcade games, so having same-color bullets in 2025 is baffling. Different shaped bullets doesn't really help. I really appreciate though that the enemies make specific sound effects before making an attack. That works very well but doesn't really fix the problem if you can't see the attacks. The health pickups, the items pretty crucial to players survival disappear after a set of time. THAT'S the thing you didn't want to leave on screen?! • Controls. Clunky stuff, mostly the aiming. Tried with gamepad and keyboard & mouse to figure out which one is more comfortable, and the answer is neither. It's as if this was meant to play with some 3rd option I've never heard of. The aiming occasionally goes ballistic even with lower sensitivity options. The "reset aim"-button became my greatest friend. Made me really wish this had just 8 angles to shoot with. Going down platforms was often tricky. It wasn't just the "down + jump" like how most games do it, but a dedicated button or a double tap down. Added to the confusion that some platforms couldn't be even be passed even if there were more at the bottom. • Unlimited enemies. Some parts, mostly the extra missions have bosses from the main story accompanied with little enemies which keep on coming. Not in waves, which would give you a little breathing room and focus on the boss, but as you destroy one, a new one other spawns into the screen immediately. Annoying hindrances who just get in the way of the fight. I was looking forward to the endless mode at the end of the extra missions, but that seems to be the case there as well so that left me disappointed. So yes, good looking game in art department and the writing made me chuckle occasionally, and I appreciate trying to do new things in story and extra missions, but the overall experience wasn't that great. Don't believe people who compare this to Metal Slug-games. It's that only on a surface level.

I see a bunch of complaints about the controls, and I kinda get it. People think this looks like a cute run and gun. And it is. Sort of. There's a subgenre of run and gun you might call "2d Mecha". Most notable in the series for the western audience is Cybernator for SNES, and in recent years Assault Suits Leynos 1 (Target Earth on Genesis) and 2. It's a fairly small but pretty neat subgenre with a number of games right here on Steam. If you could wrap your head around those 2d Mecha controls, you kinda know what's going on here, too. Right stick aims, left stick moves and can jump. If you don't like jumping with the stick you can press the face button instead. You've got two weapons you'll switch between and a gadget for each weapon slot as well, stuff like grenades or mines. The left trigger, when held, makes you duck. If you press a direction while ducking you'll do an invincible roll. The other fun hallmark of mecha games is they tend to deal with ammo, and that's no exception here. It's a balancing factor for each weapon, and how long a weapon takes to reload, how fast it blows through ammo, and how much damage it does all matter. While reloading you're basically doing nothing else but dodging, so an LMG seems cool on paper, but it takes a LONG time to reload. On top of this, it does another thing that's way more like a turn based strategy, in that your damage is usually affected by your movement. If you're standing you might get 100% damage, but ducking 130%; but if you're running maybe that drops to 70%, etc. All pretty clever and strategic. It's a lot of fun if you like these sorts of things, and you probably won't be thrown off by the short length. This ain't Front Mission Gun Hazard. The style is awesome, the music is good, and it's clearly a labor of love.
