I really want to love Radiant Defense, and there is a lot to love; the aesthetic is great, and the path-building allows you to form much more complex and personal strategies than a lot of other TD games out there. However, the turret behavior is a huge problem. There's no ability to give your turrets targeting priorities; they just target the first thing they can, then the furthest along the track. This lack of control does open up some opportunities for strategizing around their priorities, but mostly it cuts off opportunities. Even worse, the turrets have idle animations, and will spin randomly when not targeting an enemy. If this happens with a slow turret (e.g. the flamethrower), when an enemy does come in range, the turret can be pointing in completely the wrong direction. It can take *several seconds* for it to get back in position, and all the while, enemies are flooding past it. I wish I could love this game, but I feel like I spend more time fighting the stupidity of my own towers than I do the enemy, and for me that's a deal breaker.
