Wildkeepers Rising: You've seen it done before but at least this isn't just a copy and paste cosmetic change like some games of this type. You choose from a variety of heroes to begin the area. From there you have several guardians/Monsters (your allies) 24 in total as of my typing this. Each monster has their own unique “ultimate”, attack pattern, and buff/nerf to the enemy or allies. Enemies will swarm you in countless hordes from all directions. Sometimes depending on the game mode you'll be interrupted by a boss fight, these boss fights in endless mode reset chests you can obtain on the map while running and fighting. Yes the game has moments of just pure turret style of play where you just stand there and do nothing. But some monsters on your team try to discourage you from doing that such as dropping “healing” hearts wherever they travel. While you run around and kill enemies, collect chests that increase your teams passive stats you'll run into enemies that may just be annoying. For example there's these spider like things that shoot webs on the ground..... seriously it's so annoying half the time it's just best to sit still during this wave and because it can get so boring. Maxing out your meta progress will require grinding, I didn't max out the meta progress, and doing so honestly would've bored me. The allies and enemy designs are great, but it can be a bit difficult to tell where your hit box is and the enemies. There is a variety of difficulties within the game, but difficulty settings are tied to meta currency, and achievements. I can't say much about the music as I muted the music (typical of me) right away. This is “how to train your dra gon” style of “bullet heaven”, “running simulator”, whatever kind of genre you classify it as. Overall I would give it a 6.9, is it a top notch game, or best of it's genre. No, and it does have it's flaws but overall I don't regret playing it, nor do I regret paying for it. Get it if it looks interesting, get it on sale for now.
PROS:
Art
Cool Enemies
Cool Monsters
Unique “abilities”
A few different build styles
It has a story... better than no story.
Price
Team building / Synchronizing plays an important role.
NEUTRAL:
Anything longer than 20 minutes is a bit boring, but playing on endless makes things a bit funner during 20+minute runs.
NO idea about the music I played it on mute by the 30 minute mark, or turned it so low I couldn't hear it.
Seems to be lacking something.
You'll have to grind to unlock all the meta progress. I didn't unlock it all with 42.9 hours played, and 100% achievements.
Balance is a major issue, granted sometimes it comes down to builds.
CONS:
The spider web shooting enemies just discourage you from even trying to move.

Really unique take on the vampire survivors like genre. It takes a lot of elements from those games, but adds some unique features to the actual monsters that are with you. Each run is about getting those monsters at places on the maps and getting passive upgrades per monster. As you progress, more monsters will become available. Each one does something unique and has a unique ultimate. It also has a team builder aspect to the game similar to Pokemon. Unlike vampire survivors though, it's not common that your stat boosts will make you so overpowered that it feels like you break the game. Maybe there are more mechanics to the game after completing all the storyline quests, but I'm not counting on it. Overall, I'm about 2/3 of the way through the quests at 5.4 hours, but there are varying difficulties per quest to go back and re-complete. If you like vampire survivors, I would definitely recommend it. It's different enough from vampire survivors to itch a different scratch. Also, every monster's art design is wonderful, and the artists deserve props for that!
