I bought it to play as a cute little fox, half way through the fox turned into an ugly boy

I enjoyed playing this game. The recorded storytelling is a clever addition. They help ground the story expressed through the game play beautifully. The combination of both kept me interested through to the end.

Excellent storytelling. I loved how they kept the original dialect as the voice over, it added a layer of charm and identity to the game. If you've ever traveled up north, the insight videos will feel familiar. In terms of gameplay, it worked well with a controller on pc and I would recommend playing co-op with a friend for some of the harder puzzles. Though it was doable solo. The game was pretty chill overall; we get a linear story and solve puzzles along the way. It auto-saves at all the important parts so you don't have to worry if you're dying often... XD
Short game. ±5h all achievements (including DLC).

so far i love this game i am pretty sure i almost got it done, i love the story and history its very cool but one thing, i am on PC and a lot of the moving levels are very hard for single player since it needs to switch quickly, and i try to switch and need to do a action say for Nuna or the fox it is impossible to do them, yes i have gotten through a lot of the levels and i am stuck on one and i cant control anything fast enough to escape it. i have been trying for a long time but no luck. but that's just probably a lack of skill. anyway like i said before love the game love whats its about people should 100% try this, and i am very excited for the second one.

Note: the time played is incorrect. I played an additional 2 hours offline before making this review but steam is not counting it for some reason.
I want to like this game. I really do. The artstyle is gorgeous and meticulously detailed. The story is interesting and the included clips give a wonderful insight into Iñupiat culture.
But the controls. Oh, god the controls. Aiming with the bola on controller was so bad and clunky I had to swap to mouse and keyboard and even then it wasn't that much better. Playing as Fox in the later sections after he becomes a spirit is incredibly slow and clunky. Several times I fell through the geometry of an area and got killed because of it. Certain ladders in the later part of the game have such bad collision that it took multiple tries just to do a simple jump. The AI for the character you are not currently playing is awful in certain sections, to the point where I had Fox jump off of a ledge I left him on while struggling to get Nuna up there.
In a few sections I got so lost it took me an hour just to get through what was supposed to be a straightforward platforming section. I cannot in good faith recommend it to others.

I got this game for a school project and really wanted to like it, but it's just not very good. I have 100% the main game and dlc, so here we go. The movement feels unresponsive and janky, the platforming feels really janky as well. None of the mechanics except for rowing the boat in the dlc feel good. There's nothing really that interesting in the game except for the story. I know this is a story game, but you might as well make the gameplay good if you're gonna make a game. Not worth the price tag at all, feels like some game I'd get on itch.io

Don't recommend this. On PlayStation amazing. On pc abysmally bad and bugged. I keep falling through the floor. The game keeps activating coop every 3 to 15 seconds. Doesn't give the full menu so I have to press the windows key and go back to the game for the full menu. Not worth the annoying bugs.

This game becomes unplayable with a controller once you acquire the bola weapon. It completely ruined the experience for me. I ended up rage-quitting after struggling for 20 minutes and ultimately uninstalled the game.
