The Thing: Coop Game It is fun. You can adjust difficulty. You have to visit locations on map and do the tasks provided to you. Then you can call evacuation chopper. BUT: Day-Night cycle where nights are deadly. There are mimics that have name tags of your friends. There are stalking monsters. You can get infected if you receive damage from monsters, so you have to find a vaccine. And also BUT: Surviving is not enough. You have to visit Satellite in middle of map, connect satcom and call the evacuation chopper. You can adjust how many objectives have to be done before evacuation. Also there is a nuclear strike incoming... Seriously. They want to destroy "The Thing" so you have a timer. There are vehicles. You better learn how to fly a chopper because you will save a lot of time. Land travel is clunky and you can hit a lot of stuff or run out of fuel. But it is very fun. To navigate: Follow red light poles and check signposts. Or you might hit a mountain and that is not good. You have several means of fighting your enemies. Pistol is not bad but you need at least 2 players shooting at the monster at the same time and if you have ammo, dump it. Shotgun is super. Sniper rifle delivers a lot of damage but ammo is rare. Flare gun is not easy to aim but will light the enemies. Flamethrower is great but you have to realise that you have to press mouse repeatedly. You need a constant flame on monsters. And flame doesn't go into centre of your screen son don't believe in HUD. Instead find the pattern and adjust it or you will miss enemies and they will charge you. When you are hit, make sure you find an infection test and use it. Apply vaccine only after you are certain you have been infected. Flare sticks can be dropped on ground or carried on hand. Glowsticks are amazing and superior to flashlight in most cases. Painkillers are for medicine. There is meat to tame dogs. Huskies are cute. They can find loot for you or stay on guard. There are RED LASER TRIP MINES. You press E to disable them. Or you hold down E to pick them up. Then you press E to drop them and press E to activate them again. They will one hit anyone stepping on them so at nights you can use them in close quarters to blow up monsters. To do that, laser must face a wall. Then you stay away from it. Monsters will break the doors so entrances are good spots for trip mines. Lastly: There is a radio-shaped radar? Basically if monsters are close by it detects it and beeps. Very useful.

get this game on sale or 3 dollars gift it to two of my friends find a helicopter flying is suprisingly easy separate from my friends go to base camp 2 get classified data its night kill a monster look at the computer all my friends are dead call them in they all die to a massive worm the moment they spawn in i die cause i ran out of ammo 10/10 game

I have not truly felt fear in a horror game in a very long time, this game changed that. The sound and graphic design of the game as well as the setting create the perfect horror experience 10/10 would recommend.

This game is so fun. It is both eerie and scary, and trying to survive the night by being protected by traps and guns is so nerve wracking. This is by far one of my favorite games. The map, especially the first one, is very large and so much fun to explore. I can't recommend this game enough

amazing game to play with friends, very chaotic

This game rocks! I wanted to review this game for awhile, but with the buggy update it was left in, I couldn't review it in good faith. Now with the Forest update, I am happily back and playing again. The atmosphere is immaculate in its winter setting. Running or driving through vast landscapes of ice and snow with something watching you just out of sight. A few notable highlights from my 45 hours of play: - One of my first games, after being stuck in the Oil Plant after an attack, the paranoia set in and guns were drawn in a stand-off, forcing people to test for infection and killing a one that refused. - Running from a slaughter at Base Camp 2 after three people were killed and having my companion ripped from the back of a snowmobile and devoured as we tried to get away. - Veering off the path and getting lost in a blizzard, only to be hunted down as I froze to death. - Fleeing across a glacier, having it crack, drowning one and separating me from my other companion. Alone. Freezing. Hunted. - Shooting my way out of Underground Silo in the hellish stairway that was the only way out. - That feeling of being separated from your friends and to reunite 20 minutes later is a massive relief and dopamine rush knowing that both of you survived. [This game is best played when you're new, in my opinion. It's a fantastic horror game where when things get bad, they only get worse. Fun to roleplay for the seasoned player.] It had an incredible launch and rocky update that wasn't patched for months because of the lead dev being arrested lol! But it's back and better than ever with the Forest update! I really hope that this game gets to be popular again, earning the praise it truly deserves. The devs really had a chance to abandon this game, but they didn't, and I really respect that. Is it buggy? Yes. Is it an incredible experience? Absolutely. Well worth the price. Every penny well spent. One of my favorite Indie games in recent memory, and it's an absolute blast with friends. Would highly recommend.

Scary, hilarious, tense, good fun. Anxiety peaking huddled in the dark after something has shut down the generator, the red emergency lighting dimly illuminating, that motion tracker beeps and is getting more frequent, you switch to your light source because there's a new shadow. Its grotesque from the creepy dog thing, to the lanky slenderman thing with a bulbous head, you panic as it roars/screams and switch to your weapon. Darkness, intense darkness as you fire into the dark hoping you get it. Maybe you took a hit, maybe a buddy did, you got seperated for a second and now they are back. Are you or them infected? Is that a real player or an infected? First session i played i followed a player not thinking anything of it just for them to tranform and attack me in the dark woods. Its a great game, only getting better, I hope people realise and choose to support the community.

Bought this game as an excuse to jam with the homies. Expectations were low. Damn was I wrong, crazy fun game to jam with the lads. Well worth the price. I give it a "Unexpectedly fun"/10.
