Wow. Just wow. In all these years I have been alive I have never experienced a game so beautiful and life-changing. Every day of my life I find myself wanting to be hammed and boared, and now my fantasies can come true in this masterpiece of a video game. Thank you for redefining the video game genre.

There are moments in the history of interactive media when a work arrives so audacious in concept, so uncompromising in execution, that it transcends the boundaries of mere “video game” and emerges as an event—an aesthetic confrontation between player and system. pih is one such moment. On the surface, the premise seems ludicrous, even juvenile: you punch pigs. Not metaphorical pigs, not stylized approximations, but porcine adversaries rendered with a delightful absurdity that straddles the line between slapstick humor and surreal dreamscape. The player, armed with nothing more than the blunt instrument of their own fists, must engage in a porcine pugilism that gradually escalates into a ballet of violence and item collection. Each punch is both a physical action and a metaphysical declaration: I will persist. I will progress. I will pih. But what astonishes most is the precision with which these mechanics are tuned. The punch is not merely a button press—it is a statement of timing, a rhythmic incantation that transforms gameplay into choreography. The pigs themselves, far from being one-dimensional punching bags, exhibit an almost tragic dignity in their resistance. Their placement, movement, and occasional unpredictability imbue each level with the weight of a puzzle box, demanding foresight, dexterity, and the kind of instinct one only develops after many bruised knuckles and triumphantly gathered items. The items themselves deserve praise, not simply for their utility but for their symbolic resonance. They are the trophies of endurance, the glittering punctuation marks on the sentence of struggle. To collect them is not merely to “win” but to affirm one’s participation in a grander cycle of chaos and order, swine and fist, absurdity and triumph. Visually, pih embraces minimalism without ever feeling barren. The colors are bold, almost defiant, like a child’s drawing scrawled across the void of digital space. The soundtrack—an energetic blend of percussive beats and whimsical tones—synchronizes perfectly with the act of punching, creating a feedback loop of motion, impact, and exhilaration. It is not hyperbole to say that pih is less a game you play than a rhythm you embody. Is pih for everyone? Perhaps not. Those who demand realism, coherence, or narrative justification may balk at its unapologetic absurdity. But for those willing to submit themselves to its strange gravitational field, pih offers something rare: pure, unfiltered delight. It is a reminder that video games need not justify themselves with sprawling epics or cinematic gravitas. Sometimes, they need only invite you to punch pigs, gather treasures, and laugh at the absurd joy of it all. In a marketplace saturated with derivative clones and self-serious “art games,” pih stands apart as a work of bold sincerity. It is anarchic, it is ridiculous, it is brilliant.

This game is lifechaning. Sound design is top notch 10/10 the soundtrack is very captivating, Gameplay makes you rethink about deep layers in life and really makes you thinkk about how corrupt the world can be while still appreciating life, The exploration in the game is also great and every sidemisison gives you deeper explanations into the lore of "Pih" I'm so for real this is a must have game everyone should play this and I may or may not update this review when i finish the game. 10/10 game in general, may buy VR to try it again in VR later
