Need a mental break? Enjoy mental exercise that isn't painful? Want to tune out but not be a passive potato? This is the game for you. Take a break from whatever, go up a stage or two in Zink, the get back at whatever is was a little fresher. Nothing too deep here, but not shallow either. It's probably worth full price if you need a lot of breaks at your screen and fresh air isn't a thing you like. If the devs keep adding and tweaking it can only get better. Also it keeps telling me I'm a genius

A simple relaxing puzzle game. It game out when I had bad anxiety, and was struggling to get into anything else. The puzzles get pretty devious, but you can always brute force your way if you get stuck by just trying all the options, so being stuck can't last longer than the full decision tree for the level. It's very reasonably priced, as well, which is rare to see these days.

Simple, easy to learn rules with a surprisingly large amount of complexity. Great aesthetic, nice music, hundreds and hundreds of levels to play through - so far with a pretty nice difficulty curve.

Took me 6 hours to get to "Hard 1". On the dark side I might be able to fail an IQ test. On the bright side it only felt like 45 mins. Satisfying transitions, animations, and level progression made time fly playing what feels like a fun take on slider puzzles that quickly become tricky but rewarding to figure out. As a fan of games like The Witness, Stephans Sausage Roll, Filament and other popular titles in the genre, I found myself engrossed in ZINK and will absolutely be recommending it to my friends as the price to value ratio makes it hard not to consider at least trying!

6/10 Knock off pieces one by one until only one remains. There can be only one! What is it: A minimalist puzzle game in which you have to knock pieces into one another, rolling into and pushing them off into the water. Each level has a relatively small grid with a few pieces on it, cubes that you can move, pyramids that cannot be controlled, but need to be pushed off, sand pyramids that crumble when you hit them, and a few other mechanics. The goal is to figure out the right sequence of moves that leaves only one cube standing. The game is simple, but pretty and relaxing. There are a lot of levels, and after a while it starts to feel a bit repetitive. A few new mechanics try to keep it fresh, with some success. The controls on the Steam Deck are not that well done, it seems that it was tacked on. Basically there is a mouse cursor, which the left stick moves, and the right stick instructs the piece closest to the cursor to move. Still, the game is decently made, so I can recommend it as a relaxing abstract puzzle good for killing time. How hard is it: Easy to moderate, although I didn’t yet unlock the hardest levels. How long is it: 1860 levels for many tens of hours of playtime. Many packs are unlocked at once. Level design: Good, but not enough mechanics to stay fresh for almost 2000 levels. Quality: Works well, but lacking QoL. Steam cloud saving and progress achievements. A few keyboard shortcuts, but either mouse or a controller is required for playing, non-configurable. Only two audio toggles, no other settings, not even a fullscreen toggle. Fast and responsive. Progress reset. Worth the price: Yes. Most positive aspect for me: Relaxing logic game. Most negative aspect for me: Twin-stick controls on the steam deck. What would make it better: More settings, at least a fullscreen off toggle, and maybe graphics quality settings to make it smoother on low end computers. Reconfigurable key shortcuts. Proper keyboard support. Volume sliders instead of just off toggles. Also consider: Hang the Kings, eliminating pieces until only one remains, with chess pieces and moves. Newton’s Cradle, moving balls unto designated spaces by knocking into each other.
