Charming, strange adventure game driven by a cast of quirky, strange characters. The story was a strong part of this game, with some effective foreshadowing and well-executed plot twists that, while I did see them coming, were still entertaining. Some parts of the game near the middle dragged a bit, but this was a very enjoyable experience overall.

despite being spoiled on alot of stuff for the game i was still very surprised by it, i found it to be a lovely gaming experience

another wonderful game from limbolane, please check out smile for me btw. the art style is phenomenal. the story was so unique and special. i was not expecting so much lgbtqia+ representation but it truly made me smile so dang hard. i'll never forget this one. the relationships between king and miss mitternacht but also thespius and click clack! i won't spoil it but the king reveal was more than i could have hoped for.

An absolutely amazing and beautifully crafted adventure game that I cannot recommend enough. The game mechanic was interesting and innovative and the character design is quite possibly the best I've seen in years.

I LOVED THIS GAME. what a fun Adventure that i would recommend. I loved the puzzles the story was good the art style is my favorite and the soundtrack was the best. I love this game so much i hope we get more content for the game in the future. but overall i loved this game so much!!!

Great God Grove is a vibrant, artful puzzle game with an impossible amount of heart put into every inch of it. You can truly tell this game is the product of a team that loved their work. Visually, there's nothing quite like it, and while it won't blow your mind with insane graphics or crazy psychonauts style tricks, what it does deliver on is one of a kind. The writing and characters are charming, the puzzles were at time a tiny bit obtuse but never downright frustrating (or especially hard, if that's a concern), and the story itself was great. What this does falter on though is pacing. A lot of the major conflicts were resolved as quickly as they were introduced. If you were hoping to see the gods interact with or comment on each other, you'd be dissapointed. I came into this expecting to have to resolve interpersonal drama between deities, but I mostly spent it solving charming, albeit simplistic small town conflicts on their behalf. I think the writing would've benefited a lot from lingering more on the gods. Not extending their quests, per se, but giving us a little more to do with them. Side quests or some form of backtracking in the late game to re-visit the cast would've been a great way to make some of the resolutions feel more earned. Having to deliver messages or play out quests between gods of different zones would've made the world feel more tangible and less videogame-y. A little more buildup or work before it's excellent finale would've gone a long way. (Also, I won't spoil two exactly, but the fact we never got to help setup or even hear about the first date for a particular couple is criminal.) All in all, amazing game that I wish we had more time to linger in and really get to know. I understand indie games are limited in scope, and I'll always take a clever team that sets solid end points than one that adds and adds forever, but the assets were all already there, I just wanted to see them used more. (I'd kill for a little epilogue DLC, btw) Play this right away, I can't wait to see what the team's next big project is. This world is ripe to be re-visited, but equally so would I look forward to something wholly new. Great work, worth the price of admission, even if its a bit short.

great god grove is such a remarkable play !! i was introduced to yugo limbo through smile for me, and i love that game with all of my heart. needless to say, this did not disappoint ! the puzzles are the right level of challenging (even if i did have to use a guide for some parts), the hints are the right amount of helpful (if you are looking for what to do next and not how to do it). The twist was especially fun to piece together as well !! what i love most is the way the gods play into the story. i love when mythology is included in stories, but i could seriously feel the dynamic between each the gods, and i love it so much. this with the unique personalities of each npc really makes the game's world feel so real. soooo, if you're looking for a quick (i finished the game and most achievements in 7 hours), and zany but heartfelt play, i couldn't recommend the game more. miss mitternacht my beloved !!

It's a decent little adventure. Just... shallow. There is exactly 1 mechanic, the puzzles are pretty straightforward, but for this kind of game I wasn't really expecting too much on the gameplay front. What surprised me is how shallow a lot of the characters were. They all have distinct personalities, have unique designs, and you can tell a lot of love went into them. But 90% of the characters in the game, including the centerpiece gods, you interact with once or twice for maybe 2 bits of unique dialogue. It is particularly noticeable with the gods: they have a little personal dialogue, but they mostly serve as hint machines for the immediate area. So much effort and they mostly just dispense hints for the area! I like what I saw, I just wish I saw more.
