I was on the fence about recommending this or not. Pros: - Amanda the Adventurer is a unique entry in horror that thematically I really enjoy. The use of increasingly unique video tapes to solve puzzles is a great idea, and I strongly commend the visuals in the tapes. Apart from the creepy elements in the tapes, there is little in this game worth recommending from my perspective. Cons: - Despite the fact that I enjoyed the first game so much more than this one, I experienced a game-breaking bug, which others have similarly reported, during one of the puzzles. On that note, the puzzles were either obvious, and thus mundane and just took time, or completely unclear. The puzzle at the beginning of the game was easily the worst, and I agree with another review that it felt like it was just there to take up time. Some puzzles were very interesting, but most of them were just not enjoyable to me. - I could not disagree more with the other review that said this game has an excellent story: it barely has one at all. Leaving the game on a cliffhanger leaves a bitter feeling in my mouth, as a hackneyed, desperate ploy to get people to continue buying your product.

Great continuation of the first game, I like these short horror/puzzle games, and you can tell there was a lot of effort and care put into making this game. I'd definitely recommend this series!

A Solid Sequel That Deepens the Mystery The sequel to Amanda the Adventurer really ups the ante when it comes to expanding the lore and diving deeper into its unsettling world. The creepy atmosphere is just as strong—if not stronger—than the original, especially in the later parts of the game. That said, my biggest gripe is with the puzzle difficulty. While I love a good challenge, some segments felt unnecessarily complicated and could've benefited from a bit more clarity or balance. But maybe that’s just me. Overall, if you're a fan of cryptic storytelling and eerie tension, this sequel delivers in spades and has me genuinely intrigued for what's next. 8/10 – Great narrative and atmosphere, just dial back the puzzle difficulty a notch.

This game doesn't fail on the creepy, eerie level, and the expansion of the story from the first one leaves you wanting more. Very excited for the release of the third one! Gameplay: https://youtu.be/WlTl1QqlV5o

An excellent continuation to the first game. A chapter that enriches the storyline and displays the darkness of the Hameln cult and its impact on the Kensdale community. With some very good puzzle concepts, among them a storytelling session which I felt was the best puzzle of them all. Also, this game offers something new; loads of dark comedy moments with Amanda and Wooly as we see their reactions to our replies or to the obstacles they encounter in their episodes. As such, the cast did a beautiful job in depicting the polar opposite personalities between Amanda and Wooly. Their scenes turn the story in very funny or even very tense and surreal moments. And with the upcoming chapter that will conclude this series, I hope the final product will be as good as this game. Don't hesitate to buy this game, yoou wonèt be disappointed.

Listen, only get this one if you value less "hand-holding", but know it will be a challenge! I had to look up sections of the game I couldn't grasp, because of it's HUGE leaps in logic. The dev kind of goes all out on this one in terms of trusting the player to just sorta KNOW what to do next. The hints are there, but at the end, I want to note a bug with the hint-map at the end. I burned the thing 3 different times throughout the tape and only received two clues-worth. I looked at other playthroughs and their maps are complete. So I call SHENANIGANS on that one! Other than the bug and the gianormous leaps to non-obvious conclusions, if you are a puzzle-buff that understands the occasional slip up by the puzzle-maker, you'll have a great time! Overall, recommend (but know what you're buying first)...

The Puzzles are very difficult to put together but once you start to understand then you feel that much smarter for knowing. Both endings are similar but revealing in their own rights. If you played the first and enjoyed it, then this is a must play.

A big improvement from first chapter gameplay and ending-wise, however, too many cliffhangers that are based on the next chapter that will be released soon. It does add a good motivation to get other chapters, but again, too much of the things that are not properly uncovered if to sum up both of the chapters. Hopefully 3rd chapter gives us more justification of why Amanda is still trapped there and if there's an actual way to get her out.

i played the first game a bit ago and really liked it. i was hoping to enjoy the second game just the same. sadly it kind of missed the mark for me. the puzzles were way more complex than they were in the first game, to the point of being more convoluted than just difficult. hints were hard to come by/understand, depending on situation. it feels like the game had a lot of love and thought put into it, and wanted to make the whole experience a little more engaging than the first one did, but it missed by focussing too much on making the puzzles harder than they were in the first game. the story plays a very focal role, which i truly appreciate, because i care a lot about lore and finding secrets, but in this case i had to consult a guide to figure out how to even progress. part of it is probably my own fault for not being the best at puzzles, but i couldn't even manage the first one, because my thought process was too different from the actual solution. as it was with the first game though, the music and atmosphere are nice, the animations - especially of the tapes - have a lot of charm and just the right about of eeriness to make it unsettling. the voice acting, too, is absolutely on point. i can't say that i recommend the game, but i also wouldn't say that i disliked it. i would give it a neutral rating if i could. the story itself is intriguing enough though, to make me buy and play the third game. on an unrelated but very important note: this game gets a 2/10 in terms of motion sickness. i sort of drank a bunch of soda, so that kind of helped in minimizing the effects somehow, but it was noticeable, especially when walking around the cramped hallways. while watching the tapes it got enough time to cool down to not get too distracting, luckily.
