Fun game, not quite as good as the first one. Many of the puzzles pretty much require a guide. Get it on sale.

I enjoyed the game but my only let down was the microfilm puzzle not showing the completed state. There is nothing worse than a BUG in a puzzle game which forces you to look up the solution! All Hail Amanda!

An interesting entry into the horror game genre. Its got a very creepy atmosphere centered around an old animated children's show from the early 2000s. I enjoyed solving all the puzzles and trying to discover all the different responses you can get from Amanda.

I'm am locked in the lore. i did see the playthrough from the Shogun himself and Berleezy (Eugh.) but i wanted to try to solve the complex puzzles firsthand and see if i can ifnd any extra tapes, etc. It makes you want to understand why Rebecca was roped into this in the first place and see Hamlin get found out for their sneaky activities for who knows how long. Just thrilling and gets you hooked. So looking forward to game three!

A big improvement from first chapter gameplay and ending-wise, however, too many cliffhangers that are based on the next chapter that will be released soon. It does add a good motivation to get other chapters, but again, too much of the things that are not properly uncovered if to sum up both of the chapters. Hopefully 3rd chapter gives us more justification of why Amanda is still trapped there and if there's an actual way to get her out.

i played the first game a bit ago and really liked it. i was hoping to enjoy the second game just the same. sadly it kind of missed the mark for me. the puzzles were way more complex than they were in the first game, to the point of being more convoluted than just difficult. hints were hard to come by/understand, depending on situation. it feels like the game had a lot of love and thought put into it, and wanted to make the whole experience a little more engaging than the first one did, but it missed by focussing too much on making the puzzles harder than they were in the first game. the story plays a very focal role, which i truly appreciate, because i care a lot about lore and finding secrets, but in this case i had to consult a guide to figure out how to even progress. part of it is probably my own fault for not being the best at puzzles, but i couldn't even manage the first one, because my thought process was too different from the actual solution. as it was with the first game though, the music and atmosphere are nice, the animations - especially of the tapes - have a lot of charm and just the right about of eeriness to make it unsettling. the voice acting, too, is absolutely on point. i can't say that i recommend the game, but i also wouldn't say that i disliked it. i would give it a neutral rating if i could. the story itself is intriguing enough though, to make me buy and play the third game. on an unrelated but very important note: this game gets a 2/10 in terms of motion sickness. i sort of drank a bunch of soda, so that kind of helped in minimizing the effects somehow, but it was noticeable, especially when walking around the cramped hallways. while watching the tapes it got enough time to cool down to not get too distracting, luckily.

The original was built off something much simpler yet finished in a clean and brilliantly visceral way, yet this just felt diluted. It was fun but it tried to do too much with too little time, its worse than just a cliff hanger because it doesn't have much to say by itself. You know how back to the future part 2 ended with a trailer for the third movie? This felt like the same disappointment I felt then, like its the purgatory of the story, the in-between of actual substance like only used as transportation and nothing else.
