A really fun and simple RTS. Definitely recommend on a sale. Best strat is spamming artillery and rushing the enemy with your carrier and a ton of support vessels (when facing AI). It is very fun.

like the main series, but on ground. Just as fun. I would love a sequel. Oh and if you play this, remember, you can absolutely wreck your enemy with your air force.

This game differs from the other games in the series, but it is not in a bad way. What made the original games extraodinary was the movement accompanied with space. Your different units could fly in X,Y,Z axis meaning it demand more from you in terms of units placement. This game on the other hand is purely ground based which means it becomes more rigid in its movement. However they have tried to combat this with a more varied terrain with steep dunes that can block projectiles from reaching units. So even though it has removed the space element of the first two games it has created something just as captivating. The story and unit design is still top notch just like the old games. If you liked the old games (or you have never tried the series) I would definetly recommend this game. This game is both enjoyable if it is your first installment in the Homeworld series, and if it is your last installment.

Takes the homeworld concept into ground warfare very well. Way better then homeworld 3 concering the story and the balancing. Even better then comparable games of the same genre.

I don't think this game is for me, I tried very hard but for some reason I just couldn't beat the game, it felt very difficult.

Would I recommend it? That's a complex question. It's a great game, but PLEASE STOP FORCING UNSKIPPABLE CUTSCENES. Eff management that approves this. Also. VISA AND MASTERCARD SHOULD NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO DICTATE MORALITY. STOP VOTING FOR THIS.

It's unacceptable that I couldn't play this game without installing that garbage Epic store. I am utterly disappointed.. Gearbox I hate you..

I really enjoy this game because it is has the right blend of strategy and enthralling visuals to be great. I especially like how the sand dunes are 3D, so you can use them as cover from enemy rail gun fire, and how there are so many different strategies that you can use, so it fits countless different play styles.

Not recommended. It tried to install the Epic Games Store when I first started it. Without my consent. The game itself is fine. Good story, well presented. The missions fun and challenging, not unfair.

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak: Small game with limited playability (very few unit types). Recommended as a technology demonstration for possible Homeworld 3 engine characteristics. Positives: The atmosphere and visual effects are excellent. Deserts of Kharak feels like the spiritual successor to Westwoods Tiberian Sun - a dark, militaristic, no-nonsense RTS.
