Played this off and on from the demo. Is like if Terminator but instead of some "random" grunt sent back in time it is some "random" pilot sent forward in time and it is a better time had by all.

I played the demo and had high hopes for this game. The introduction in the demo was enough to convince me to buy it. I rarely play bullet hell because its not necessarily my cup of tea - But the demo showed me that the story has high promise and the gameplay felt really good.
So, one day later I bought it and once I played it, I completed it in one setting. Yes, the story is not that long but they made the best of the time, in my opinion.
The story was really cool and the gameplay and the weapons felt good. The voice acting (in english) was really really well done. The customization you have is really cool and I absolutely loved, that even in cutscenes the ship kept it's design.
This game, for this genre, is a hidden gem.
One small feedback tho: I had problems knowing when stuff hits me. It didnt put me off completely (and on a bullet hell you dodge quite frequently) so it was fine.
The bosses had good designs - yet at first I had problems finding the weak points (On one of the bosses, I didnt knew the turrets themself were the weakpoints).
But all in all, this game was an absolute blast! Cant wait to play the rogue(f)light gameplay on it! And cant wait for the next gem you push out for us.
Keep it up!

It isn't perfect...and that's okay! Lot to love about this title. It feels like the lovechild between xenogears (in setting/anime inspiration) and StarFox (in gameplay). The story is engaging and cutscenes are snappy, letting you get back to the action. I was deeply surprised when given a choice about the route, which also had plot relevance.
The gameplay could be improved. It's good, but not quite great. Sometimes it can be hard to tell what bullets will hit you/how far they are. The bosses could use stages with varied attacks at each stage. Hidden routes in levels or hidden objectives would have been a great feature. That said, this game does a combo meter incredibly well. When you start getting high 50's combo, you get that feeling like in Tony Hawk during a long combo where you momentarily consider playing it safe by breaking your combo...but you think to yourself "Fuck it, we ball" and you keep going. I felt exhilarated upon getting up to a 79 hit combo and now want to hit 100. The progression system is really rewarding and will build in some great replayability. Overall, this is an excellent 7/10 game, well worth the price of admission.

Weaknesses some folks may find is that the game is relatively short for the story it has to tell. The strobe and visual effects even when you turn them down are still a bit hard on the eyes if you're playing for a while.
More neutral points, there's plenty of customization for the one fighter you get, but being limited to only the one vehicle is a bit of a problem for me. You also unlock things extremely quickly. I was able to knock out half the arsenal in two playthroughs.
For a micro-version of Star Fox, this is a solid experience in my opinion. I wish gameplay depended less on the use of the special attack, but I am glad to have a quick space flight shooter like this. I mean knocking out the achievements and the Void modes were a blast. The story is quick and to the point. I would like more lore in future games perhaps.
I had been looking for something solid like this for a long time. For a quick title, I would recommend other people give this a shot. 8/10.

A short on-rails shooter with a lot of heart. Great artstyle, phenomenal soundtrack (Into the Void by Rinn is a banger), excellent VA work, fun and flashy gameplay, good protagonist, and the ship customisation is greatly appreciated.
There are some elements of jank (hit detection can be a bit weird and having to sit through a full game restart upon running out of lives or finishing a run doesn't feel great), but these issues are miniscule in the face of what these devs have accomplished. The demo hooked me, and the full game didn't let me down. A triumph of a game that I never saw coming.

Bought this on a whim and really glad I did - fun, frenetic, very Starfox or a simpler version of an on-rails Ace Combat. The aesthetic and vibes are immaculate, and really good for short bursts of mayhem. Great game!

To be honest, I was conflicted about recommending this or not. I felt a bit cheated when I bought the game.
I expected a StarFox-like game with roguelike mechanics (you know, from the name), routes to choose, meaningful decisions to make, randomized equipment, and proper progression after dying. What I got was just a side-scrolling (but in 3D) fighter shoot-'em-up with no real depth. After playing it, I can't even call it a StarFox clone.
Gameplay is fast and fun—for a bit—until you realize the game isn’t difficult at all. The fast-moving background you see in the videos is cool and all, but it’s just that—a background. It doesn’t interact with the player in any way. It’s so poorly implemented that you’ll see giant asteroids coming at you that never hit, and ships that could cover the entire screen appearing tiny in front of the massive moving background the game uses. Sometimes, because of this, my brain ends up hurting. I’ve only experienced something similar in VR games with bad perspective handling. Any other game would clip things into perspective.
That said, this game feels like a pretty decent demo title for your Steam Deck. It runs flawlessly. VHS filter looks great in a small screen. But still, you won’t play this game for more than 5 hours. You can finish it in less than a day. Maybe with a 50% discount, it would be worth it.

CAUTIOUS RECOMMENDATION The vibes of this on-rails anime shooter are fantastic. The 90's VHS aesthetic, the prestige anime art style, the rock and j-pop music, the genre and science references, the VA direction -- they all make me smile. BUT BUYER BEWARE this game has core gameplay problems and a few control and UI oversights.
First, the game is very, very short. Think like half of the Star Fox 64 map. The devs want you to run the game multiple times and then do a NG+ mode with upgrades, and they let that loop do most of the heavy lifting. I understand it's an indie studio with limited resources (heavens, do I understand that), but 3 hours of first-run gameplay is not enough even at the sale price point. The game really needed a few more levels to justify itself, otherwise it feels like an early access title. UPDATE: I beat the game fully -- including NG+ -- in 7 hours.
Next, the hitboxes on enemies and power-ups are incredibly tight. There's absolutely zero give to bounding box registration, and it makes the shooting frustrating particularly with early weapons. This is improved with upgrades which are spammier, and in first-person mode where the crosshair is more tightly aligned with your shooting vector, but I don't think most people will want to be playing in that mode. That's a mode best left to 6DOF sims.
The menu UI hierarchy is strange. This is doubly true for outfitting the Arrow. It should float new items to the top, but it does not. You have to scroll through the entire list of locked modules to find the new one you've unlocked.
Last but certainly not least and perhaps most annoyingly: if you are playing this game with a wireless Xbox controller, you will run into a bug where even a slight drop in connectivity will cause the whole game to freeze. I had to Ctrl-Alt-Delete several times.
But if all you want is a vibey on-rails shooter and the game is on sale, go for it. It certainly has what I was looking for; just not enough of it.

I enjoyed playing through this game, and I especially liked the full-fledged nature of the feature set (flying from the cock-pit view was great). In the end though, the game is simply too easy to be worth long-term play. I think this points to a larger problem with these Star Fox clones; if there were something engaging gameplay-wise, Nintendo would have thought of it back in the nineties. Still, good for a few days of fun if it goes on sale.

Huge rail shooter fan and a huge shmup fan. A fan of arcade in general. This game seems to be a blend of everything I love. The atmosphere, the visceral feeling of moving at high speeds and shooting, it feels great. I especially like the sheer scale and presence of the bosses. I just finished the main story and still have many other modes to dive into, but I'm going to go ahead and say I already got my moneys worth.
I have one big nitpick, however. Hot take, but I think the stages need to be much shorter and much denser. They were all pretty long, but the tunnel stage especially drags. I know the mainstream audience would cry about it and say it's too short, but they don't know what true replay value means. If I were to set out to master this game and replay it hundreds of times, there would be so much accumulated time that I'm just mindlessly fighting small popcorn. So, if that were condensed down to where the moment-to-moment gameplay matched the intensity this game is exuding, you'd have a 10/10 on your hands.
But like I said there are other modes I haven't played. I know there is a caravan mode, and that will probably be closer to what I'm looking for. But my criticisms for story mode still stand because the short, snappy rounds would go so well with the escalating narrative.
Overall great game. The industry needs more of this and I look forward to what you put out in the future.
