...It's fire. Mic drop!
13/10 soundtrack, 10/10 arcade gameplay, 10/10 voice acting. The story is short but sweet and very fun for a $20 indie title, but the game does a great job of making you feel like humanity's last hope against overwhelming odds. There's lots of additional modes beside the story mode which give this game excellent replay value, and the newest "Void Mode" added in the latest update adds some fun challenge while keeping the wow-factor of the original story.
I decided to buy this game based on the launch trailer, and let me just say, this game knows its audience well. The background environment design for this game is second to none, and the adrenaline rush I got at times dodging environment obstacles while trying to shoot down enemies was absolutely top-tier. The gameplay is easy to pick up and all of the levels felt balance for the spirit of the game- plus, the replay modes have alternate versions of certain levels with harder enemies, which helped keep the fun alive long after my first playthrough.
All in all: An awesome indie rail shooter and a great buy for $20, let alone on sale for $16 or less! I can absolutely recommend picking this up.

7/10 "Air Combat with japanese retro 90 style with terrible endings and combat that stays longer than it should be"
Good concept, okay delivered and a lot of "padding" to get this more than 2 hours gameplay [yes so you can't refund]
When I said good concept, it has everything to takes that 8-9/10 but story/writing aren't good, especially how it was directed. Maybe they ran out of fund or something. The true ending is one of the worst writing I ever saw.
Here's why I said this game lacks that delivering at the end.
Spoiler Alert.
In the final mission, in the normal mode, you would die in 2 ways, 1 you blew up and 2, you ran out of fuel.
In true ending, you just "have some fuel" left in the tank to go back home which is...very lack lusting.
Instead of the scientist sending a fuel through drone with miltiary guy to get the last ending be "all of our coorperation, I survived" and then got out of that plane and have a good smile with the team at the end then protagonist removed her helmet looking behind to see arrow[the ship] with the sky without the drone.
There are a lot of way to make the ending beautiful but this one is just, I got home, people cheer you, the end. those people are faceless too[cause they're mob characters] You don't know any of them.
For the gameplay though that's another minus due to how much content you get from playing the game multiple times and seriously, you have to watch the boss showing up and do slow spin or nothing at all for 30 seconds before the fight start everytime is VERY annoying.
The stage has the progress bar and you have to defeat enemies to fill it to fight the boss and in later stages you will have to fight the same enemies that will spawn the same way, same place same pattern until you fill the bar up made the game very BORING.

I love this game - BUT
First of all: the good - the gameplay is great, the story is simple but effective, the music is wonderful and the ship looks awesome. Feels great to fly, no notes in the slightest, 10/10.
The bad: This was echoed in my chat but this game is HARD on the eyes with the sheer amount of strobing, lasers and other effects on screen at all times. Turning off strobe helps a little, but a number of people are turned off by all the effects!

It's really badass. Fun arcade shooter with a cool side-swipe mechanic. If you enjoy anime or ever liked Macross and games like Star Fox, you should check this game out. Interesting story, short but decent replay value. It has a surprising amount of customization as well with decal rewards from completing missions.

Excellent classic arcade shooter with a lot of fun little side features and unlockables.
Just check to see how to level up all of your ships parameters equally so you're not finding yourself grinding a level to meet one last requirement.

For those who want the SHORT REVIEW, ROGUE FLIGHT is a short, simple and solid rail shooter / action arcade-esque game. With a great soundtrack and a beautiful 80s - 90s anime art style. And a simple story that does its job. If you liked StarFox or games similar to StarFox, you'll feel right at home with ROGUE FLIGHT.
For those who want the LONG REVIEW.
Gameplay: ROGUE FLIGHT is a rail shooter, meaning every level (for the most part) is going to be the same experience. The Arrow starts with a basic vulcan cannon that can hold its own against most enemies, you eventually can get a Wave shot that shoots a bigger circular shot. A laser that does continuous small damage but restores your shields, and a lightning shot which is just a beefier and bigger version of your vulcan cannon. And for groups of enemies you have your standard missiles to lock onto and obliterate multiple enemies at once. You can also (Hear me out) drift the Arrow, doing so causes your exhaust trail to kill any and all enemies caught in the path of it. All of these can be upgraded further with the ship customizability, it ain't SUPER in depth but the added touch is nice as it makes replaying through each level more interesting. I HIGHLY recommend 100%'ing the game, it is easy to do and a nice little challenge for some plus it doesn't take that long to do so!
Visuals: ROGUE FLIGHT's art style VERY much is meant to replicate anime's from the 80s and 90s. The 3D models are well detailed and the 2D art looks like it came straight out of an anime from the aforementioned eras. Each planet or area you visit has its own unique look to it, from flying in the great blue sky of Earth to the molten ocean of Io or even the abandoned debris scattered asteroid belt. All levels in Rogue Flight have their own style to them. While stunningly beautiful, I will give a fair warning to anyone that has epileptic symptoms as the game can get rather intense at times.
Sound Design: The entire soundtrack is beautifully composed. I do have one minor gripe and that is literally every boss shares the same song and I wish they each had a unique song for themselves. Besides that every song is fitting for each level, Saturn being my personal favorite of the OST. Fat Bard did an amazing job with every song used AND the two songs by Rinn. are fantastic. As for sound effects? Well I generally have no complaints, nothing is more satisfying than lining up multiple enemies and drifting to hear all of them explode as your point multiplier dings. And the voice acting is something I would expect of a modern anime, Nadia (Sandra Saad), Mason (Jess Nahikian) and Griffin (Darin De Paul) did great work overall!
Story: ARGUS an AI designed to control ALL of the solar systems defenses turned on humanity wiping out almost every single living being. Some humans survived and only have one shot to retaliate with the state of the art space fighter named Arrow piloted by the one and only Nadia. With the help of Griffin a ex-commander and the scientist/engineer Mason guiding her along the way. The story has multiple paths all with their own endings and each path has its own missions dedicated to it.
Of course the game includes a true ending as each ending results in a time loop as if everything that happened didn't happen. This occurs until finally Nadia takes her own path leading to the destruction of ARGUS and her returning home safely as a hero.
