i really want to recommend this game, the concept is good, but the transition are clunky when getting on and off the escalator, Like other people, the "stuck in the escalator" is very very very annoying

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to the absolute rollercoaster of weirdness that is "Escalator"! Picture this: you've just stepped into the world of gaming, and what do you see? A bizarre mix of "Exit 8" and an escalator ride that promises to make your daily commute seem like a walk in the park...well, almost. In "Escalator," you're not just strolling down the hallway like some pedestrian (literally). No, no! You're riding that escalator to the heavens, or at least to the exit of the subway station. But don't expect a leisurely ascent to the surface, oh no! You're on a mission to uncover the weirdest, wildest, and wackiest things that can happen on an escalator ride. And what do you do if you witness something that's off-the-charts bonkers? Well, my friends, you channel your inner crazy by descending those stairs and hitting that fire alarm button like your sanity depends on it! Now, if you manage to convince the game that you're not a complete lunatic, you can make your grand exit through the subway doors, and guess what? You've officially graduated from the school of escalator madness! But hold on to your handrails because you'll need to repeat this sanity-checking process seven times to declare yourself the ultimate Escalator Champion. Let's talk about the "wrongness" of it all. Some of the scenes are subtler than a ninja's whisper, while others are like a mashup of B-grade horror movies and a late-night infomercial for paranormal pest control. If you're the kind of person whose screams can wake up the entire neighborhood within a 10-block radius, you might want to consider investing in some serious soundproofing before embarking on this epic journey. Now, don't go expecting a deep dive into the Mariana Trench of gaming depth with "Escalator." It's short, sweet, and to the point. If you're searching for an immersive, hours-long adventure, well, you might as well look elsewhere. But for what it is and at its price point, "Escalator" delivers a unique and delightful gaming experience that'll have you questioning the very nature of escalators and your own sanity. So hop on board and ride this absurd wave of escalator madness, because it's one wild, wacky, and surprisingly entertaining trip!

I love riding escalators! Probably one of my favorite things to do. So the FACT that I can ride an escalator while solving the grand puzzle of which this game is, it makes me joyous that I get to ride an escalator while doing so. CAN'T get enough of these escalators.

Game broken. Can't progress at all! Stuck in the very first room! EDIT! GO BACK DOWN THE STAIRS AND CHECK THE NOTE AGAIN! Maybe it was my bad? maybe its poorly explained. I timed the Escalator: it is 40 seconds. if you see an anomaly early on you are stuck there and can not jump off. there are also cut scenes that eat up time between levels and getting on the escalator. The most fun i had was finding the debug mode and flying around the level. i will not refund just yet i want to see what the developer might update but if there is no improvement this is a negative review and a recommendation to not buy this game

Unfortunetaly bad game. Similar to Exit 8, but many more mistakes than that. -riding an escalator takes a lot of time, with no option of making it go faster (so if you see anomaly at the start, you need to wait like 10 seconds to progress) -if you go to the menu, you lose progress in found anomalies and also you lose option of skipping the non-anomaly ride (after completion of run, you can skip, but after going to menu again, you lose the option) -not really scary, just 2 scarier than normal anomalies, but nothing really good scary Main problem I think is the speed of the escalator, as due to it, it becomes quickly boring

This is the first of these "Exit 8" type of games that I managed to finish. I like the concept. Can see some peeps gettin' impatient with waitin' for the escalator tho. I didn't get to experience all of the anomalies. Despite that it's not too bad. I'd like to see a story done with this type of game. Gameplay Impressions: https://youtu.be/nYpa8OsJOcI

The game is just another low effort Exit 8 inspired game with not much going on and the anomalies be not creative at all and worst of all you are forced to take the escalator up and can't move around multiple times. Whenever you find an anomaly you have to walk downstairs to press an alarm button and the ghost child using his fingers to show how many things you got right feels out of place. The game was pretty boring since nothing interesting was going on and the only time something interesting did happen was when the lights slowly turned off but that was the only good part of the game. The level design could of been a better though maybe a slightly bigger area with another escalator and something besides a single door at the top and no door at the bottom. The both of those just feel lazy and doesn't make it feel like a metro or wherever this is. Having another NPC walking down the stairs would of been good as well. I did beat the game but I can't recommend this since its just boring with not much going on and it could of been better and I tried to see all the anomalies but I just got so bored since after the game when you get the option to use the "H' key to see if there are any anomalies but none of them were interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3lo2hfefQw

Lazy, cheap cashgrab; someone noticed the hype around 8番出口 and thought it was a great opportunity to make some easy money leeching off of it, so they created this garbage. Similarly to 8番出口, this game reutilizes the same assets throughout the entire playthrough. You'll repeatedly pass the same area, and occasionally something new shows up... but for the most part, it's very quickly put together and doesn't exactly boast an astounding variety of content. 8番出口 was a great success because it brought something new. Sure, it's heavily inspired by I'm on Observation Duty, but it still changed up the core mechanics and presented a cool, refreshing product that grabbed everyone's attention. This utterly ordinary and absolutely dull excuse for a video-game on the other hand, noticed how effortless it would be to create a similar, short game that reutilizes assets and that it would surely attract some attention since people would comment "It's a new game that is like The Exit 8!" I won't detail every flaw in this product, since I don't wish to spend 3 months writing this review, but probably the main example of how rushed this game was is the "H" button mechanic: it allows you to skip the escalator ride if you don't see any anomalies. The problem is that the skip doesn't work if there are anomalies, and so the game becomes completely pointless since you can press "H", and instantly find out if there is an anomaly or not. Congratulations, I hereby award thee with the Nobel Prize of the most incompetent developer of the century. I've refunded this product, but I will be appealing to receive a triple-refund because I believe the developer should pay me not only for playtesting this incomplete product, but also restitute me for the mental health degradation caused by experiencing this unreasonably disappointing specimen of entertainment software.
