Often you see a trailer for a game and think ‘that looks fun’ but in reality playing it does not match the visual experience. Well, not the case here. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it plays even better than I could have hoped for.
Having grown up owning a Sega Saturn and enjoying such games as Daytona USA, Sega Rally and Crazy Taxi there were a lot of attractive aspects of the game to draw me in beyond the nostalgic aesthetics and superlative soundtrack.
I was a big Mario Kart 64 player back in the day and you’ll feel right at home here with the simple controls and mini turbo system, in fact it is as if this game was created just for me!
Normally i wait for a steam sale to buy a game (I have such a backlog already to play) but I have no regrets jumping in at full whack here, it is very sensibly priced and you won't regret your purchase.
8 tracks might not seem a lot but as with Sega Rally (that only had four tracks!) they are very replayable and the developer has ensured that there are plenty of quality of life updates to keep you engaged. I have racked up over 50 hours of play time and a lot of that time was spent trying to improve on one single track! Beating your best time or friend’s ghost is very addictive. I let my nephew have a go at the game on my laptop and he instantly had to buy it (he borrowed his sister's college laptop just to play it) so now we are battling it out on the leaderboards working out new strategies to eek out some time saves and pushing ourselves to greater heights. His sister and their mum have also now joined in the racing shenanigans proving that this is a game accessible to all.
Further good news is the addition of mod support and steam workshop integration indicating that there will be plenty of new tracks to discover in the future.
There is also an expansion pack being made (set in Europe) which will provide another 8 official tracks and what I have seen of them so far looks awesome and really builds upon and fulfils the potential shown in the original tracks (being from the UK I'm really stoked to see a York inspired track complete with cool castle!).
I don't normally check out twitch streams but Walaber is such a knowledgeable, engaging personality (yes he looks like a demented gerbil at times but don't let that put you off! ;)) that I find myself tuning in most weeks just to see what other cool things he is working on and how the creation of the expansion pack for Parking Garage Rally Circuit is coming along, to see each track evolve from conception to fully fledged creation is wondrous and inspiring. Sir, I salute you!
In conclusion don’t miss out on this game, for the hours of sheer unadulterated fun and future proofed support it is well worth the modest outlay.
P.S
Hoping for a Crazy Taxi track in the mods given the influence it had on this gem!

Easy, breezy, BLUE SKY IN GAMES racer.
Aggressively charming and infinitely endearing, I love everything about how this plays. It has the same vibe as Crazy Taxi, with a joyful ska soundtrack that could easily go toe-to-toe with that game's truly irrepressible OST.

Just plain and instant fun, I highly recommend this game for a quick arcade shot or a longer "die and retry" session. Controls are simple, tracks are tight and well designed, the music is great and the overall ambiance is very fun and... the local multiplayer is a godsend. I haven't tried the modded content yet, but some tracks already look very cool.
I hope the community of players grow so this game gets more content and lives happily ever after.
Great job dev !
EDIT: also thank you for making it MacOS compatible (works great) which is rare for racing games nowadays

My sentiment echos what a lot of people who gave a negative review says
The God damm physics bro, they suck
Literally anytime you hit a ramp, it punishes you by flipping your car or reducing your speed...in a RACING game. While i understand the point of the game is to chain together drifts which in of itself requires perfection, i feel like this game was built for a very niche group of racing perfectionists.
This in NO WAY plays like Mario Kart because at least in that game you don't have to take your finger off the accelerate button.
Getting Gold for the light car can be a real pain in the ass especially in the later tracks where it feels like the gold AI is cheating and as a matter of fact, it feels like they are cheating regardless of which car you use, i can think of 3 tracks where you can basically cheese your way through by driving off the top floor to the bottom but you are still at risk of losing gold if you make one tiny mistake.
This is a wonderful little game, but its not for everyone, you have to really really like perfectionist type racing games

Incredibly addictive gameplay and fantastic visual style. Felt like I was 10 years old sitting cross legged on the floor in front of my PS1 again.

This game has easy to grasp and tough to master controls. I love the gameplay loop and would like to see more tracks added in the future (or even DLC)

Ok this game is unironically amazing like Trackmania meets Daytona USA and Sega Rally there’s a small number of tracks but they’re all highly replayable and there’s a number of fan tracks on the workshop my only issue is due to a lack of in game track editor the barrier for entry is a lot higher to add custom tracks but besides this i highly recommend this game and think it’s sick af

Meh, good game but its ruined by the ease of your car flipping over. And jumps, on some of the maps they make them so stupid that you fly off the map and die. Even if you slow down. Super frustrating.

Honestly a good game with a nice community. The mod support adds a lot of replayability and has a lot of potential for expanding the game. Join the discord to know when events are happening and help us keep this game going.
