Wish I could refund this game but I bought it during Early Access. Game has serious bug issue and I was soft locked out of the game not once, but TWICE. How can you have disappearing menu for ability set up? That's just really bad. Reported bug and tried to get help on their discord but never got a response. What triggered me and made me decide to leave this review is the fact that their discord suddenly became active because the studio is launching a new game. The audacity they have, changing the discord server name and pretended all those bug issues never happened and proceeded to promote their new game. Disgusting and irresponsible developers. Shame on you. Will never support any of their game.

This game is not finished and was abandoned by the devs. Don't buy this, give your money to people who finish their projects.

I had some hope the game would be decent at 80% discount but there are so many major issues to start with. - City mini-map is way too close and barely tells you where to go for your quest no matter where you are. - Emptiness all over. The map is inflated to make it feel like you're exploring vast areas. But it's just 3x bigger than it could've been. - Poor directioning. The game tells you things like this : "go to *place name*, they're waiting for you"... Yeah? Where is it? It's a new game with new places and names, how dafuq do you expect anyone to be like "oh, seems straight foward enough, let's get going. It's right there". IT DOESN'T EVEN GIVE YOU ANY DIRECTION! At least tell us things like this "The exit's north-east from here through the commercial area, then look west from the gate and follow that path, you'll get there safely". Is it THAT complicated to give simple directions??? - Combat seems a bit stretched for very early game. It shouldn't take over a minute to beat a tutorial enemy. Too much health. - Shadow glitch after a few minutes, it flickers slowly a huge shadow like someone's playing with the lights.

Finished the game, not a bad run and the game actually fit well with the description "small company trying their best to create this game". Gameplay --- pretty fun to play, I like how each characters have their own totally different play styles but the pacing is somewhat slow, could be better if there was 2-3x speed while battling. The puzzle tower was quite amusing but sadly we didnt get them anymore after early chapters Graphic --- the environments are sight for the sore eyes but characters polygon are not the best you'd want to see Characters --- too little playable characters TBH, there're only 5 permanent characters and you get to use 4 of them in the party, also there's a blonde girl who has her own collection card on steam but didnt appear in the game at all lol. I guess dev planned to add her in later chapters but they ran out of budget before fully completing everything. The most saddest part is my most favorite female character isnt permanent and left the party after a while Story --- quite confusing at first, but the plot will be revealed on the very late game, also there're things that left unfinished yet, like there were 3 main conflicts in the plot but we only solved one of them, where we may get to know the rest in sequel Bugs --- there're some but not game breaking, it will somewhat annoyed you but not really that much of an issue, got game crash like 4-5 times along the way 7/10 --- recommended to buy this game while there's discount going on, it's pretty cheap for this quality of game

Edge of Eternity is an open-exploration, turn-based RPG that features two siblings who are seeking a cure to a widespread disease named the Corruption. The combat system features an ATB mechanic on a hex grid arena, and an ability/stat system based on crystals equipped to the character's weapon. Let me give you my breakdown of the game, and what led me to not recommending this game: Pros: *Well-polished world that has a good amount to explore, farming mats and enemies at your pace, encouragement through quests to look for loot, and movement-based puzzles incentivizing players with additional loot. *Excellent facial tracking in cutscenes with main characters *Custom difficulty adjustments to tailor your experience in the game as you play, such as splitting battle difficulty with other sources of immersion (e.g. whether you can teleport or not, how often you can save) *Good customization with stats and skills in weapon-based skill system *Generally impressive game construction from a small studio *Opportunities for additional backstory/lore from MCs when resting at inns as story progresses *In-menu bug report for devs including an auto-screenshot feature to help with supporting devs Cons: *Overall issues with character writing, sense of MCs connectedness to the plot and their world. In other words, MCs feel more "thrown into" the story and have a mission more than they seem to fit into the world they exist in. Further, MCs naturally have a sibling bickering-type relationship which appears more put on than actually organic/realistic *Audio issues up the wazoo. Had to personally disable sound effects as I had an audio glitch that persisted during a combat and never went away, even after restarting the game. Other issues include audio files being clipped short and audio not playing during certain cutscenes when it likely should, or makes sense to *Difficulty with camera manipulation during combat making some targeting impossible due to odd choices in camera locking *Unintuitive presentation and use of certain gameplay mechanics. Tutorials for certain aspects of the game didn't feel as involved as they should, and the crafting system could use work. Having *4 separate crafting benches* (weapons/armor/consumables/crafting catalysts) seems a bit disjointed and frustrating to me, especially when the benches themselves are in different areas/across map areas Nit-Picky: *Gameplay loop feels overall more grindy than engaged and refreshing. The weather system in the game, which changes weaknesses/enemy spawns and can be controlled in major cities, seems overall unnecessary to mess with (though I will admit that might be more useful later on in the game, since I had only played 5 hours) Overall, I would not recommend this game if you're looking for a streamlined RPG experience that has an engaging story. I believe the game promises more than it can keep up with and it shows this quite early on. I had really tried to give it a chance in the face of some of these issues, but by the time I made it to the big city as part of the main story, I felt like I couldn't continue from there due to the issues piling up. This is, however, a good game if you're okay contending with audio glitches and a pretty unengaging story (so far for me).

Game starts out rather slow and not very interesting, it picks up after chapter 1, and gets only better. Content is unique along with its story, you get to control party of 4 with option to switch out members, and build their abilities, armor, weapons. You travel open world, mostly load screens when you talk, teleport and story sequences. Each companion has its own short story. Can buy the game dirt cheap and its worth it. Pros - zones design is good - amount of grind is low - music is alright - sfx is okay - combat difficulty can by adjusted mid game - option to min max characters with crystals and gear - crafting is decent ( armor, weapons, utilities, crystal - quests are rather simple, they are there to help you level and make some extra money - main quest is cool along with its story - leveling up is rather quick - world bosses are cool looking - save anywhere option - plenty places to teleport across the continent - didnt encounter game breaking bugs - cool mount early on Cons - some texture glitches - audio can get little glitchy at times - there seem to be some game content missing but its not game breaking in any way, like custom outfits

I can't understand how this game has "Mostly Negative" recent reviews. I just noticed the sale and was telling a friend about it. I played this years ago, didn't finish it and forgot where I left off, thinking about starting a new game. Is it the best game ever? No. It is a solid JRPG tho. 7.5/10 would absolutely recommend And It's on sale for $5.99 right now, you'd have to be crazy to pass up that deal.

It's a pretty good RPG overall, I've been enjoying it. While I do recommend the game for my fellow RPG lovers I must however caution you. This game has been very.. VERY buggy for me. Nothing particularly game breaking, just annoying.. like dialogue missing in several parts, some random FPS drops that shouldn't happen, a skill that became permanent for seemingly no reason (but that one was in my favour so I won't complain :D) Main character having their current weapon in flashback cutscenes then a different weapon in flashback combat sequences. Shadows flickering a lot.. this can be avoided buy turning the quality down completely. Enemy glitching into the floor during a battle and generally just silly things like that. Mostly visual or audio related. The game is still fun though and i'm enjoying the story so far so if you're willing to forgive a couple.. well a good few bugs then yeah give this game a chance. But maybe wait for a sale or something.. just because of how buggy the game is.
