Blade Chimera is a short and sweet metroid-vania. It features a fun menagerie of demons to discover and fight. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a game to finish over a weekend.

It took me about 17 hours to 100% this game and I mean, all the achievements and all the Log entries, such as Items. This definitely felt like a great Metroidvania! I really apprechiate the fast travel system. You can Warp from pretty much any spot of the Map to any other spot (now some might argue that this takes away from the MV experience where you go back and forth over the map with new abilities, getting better and killing certain enemies and such but I feel like this system doesnt take away from the feeling of exploration and upgrading) it felt like the game valued my time and allowd me to 100% it with good quality of life!
There is a small issue with documentation. Dont get me wrong, you will find guides on 100% the map, getting all achievements and where the collectible puzzle peices are.
But Ive found it hard to get information on enemy locations specifically.
This in turn lead me to just traverse the map from beginning to end a few times and randomly teleporting around the map until I found the enemies in question and sometimes looking even more to find a decent farming spot. [It would be nice if the Demon Codex would show you where enemies are found but you can play without that]
another Issue you will see popping up online occasionally is the low droprates on items.. having played a few other MVs I can say that the droprates on gear feel appropriate and not too tedious.. however, certain enemies drop consumables or money. I would say that you never need to grind enemies for money, you will get enough currency from the story / side missions. you can also definitely get through the game with the consumables that the shops/vending machines offer you. But if you want to, for whatever reason, decide to farm a monster consumable.. good luck it will take you quite some time to even get one of them, let alone a stack of 10..
besides these small issues I really really enjoyed this game!! I can only recommend you play this!
ps. if you are struggling on one specific item / enemy / collectible or anything else you can ask me for advice if you cant find what you are looking for online!
If there is high demand for something like enemy spawns I might even write up a guide on those!

Team Ladybug really flexed their muscles on the pixel art department here, absolutely incredible work. As a metroidvania though it’s too linear, exploration doesn’t feel satisfying and the skills you get aren’t interesting. It’s definitely a good game but it’s my least liked one out of their output

Amazing game, great message in the story, takes a lot of the metroidvania formula especially the igavania side and expands quite a bit on it. I enjoyed this thoroughly walrsaud halfway through a second playthrough, if the story doesn’t grab you the awesome pixel art and gameplay ought to, some of the best gameplay in an MV for me.

Just finished the game. The story was great. A little Cliche, but the entire game was an 8/10. Really solid, really good. I need to check if this game has some secret endings, and complete it 100%. Really looking forward to it :D
EDIT: Got all achievements. So, great game. The ending added another point. I finished it in less than 3 days. 9/10 game with that ending. Great last boss.

hard to believe it's from the same team as "Touhou Luna Nights".
BLADECHIMERA is dull, has a boring story, levels are repetitive in structure, pace is meh,
probably only thing i like in it is graphics.

Good solid fun. Got it on sale, so regular price is a bit steep, since replay is limited. Decent story, addictive gameplay. Brought me back to 90s games.

A really good metroid vania, a little short still good, it would benefit from a secret ending where you had to re do everything with stronger monsters or something similar in order to extend it and maybe some command input moves, other than that i really liked it.

Bladechimera is a really good game. Maybe it isn't a 10/10 game but I have a ton fun with it. I don't really get all the negative reviews, Bladechimera has a really pretty graphics, music and is for a change a Metroidvania where you mainly shoot, while melee is also possible.
The real fun begins later in the game, after about 5 hours in, when the story picks up, you got more skills/weapons to play around with and... the difficulty also finally picks up.
Early game is a tick easy, too easy for me. But in the later parts of the game, it really starts to get more interesting, from a difficulty perspective. Not unfair but challenging enough.
The early game is pretty strait forward and... for a Metroidvania pretty guided and on rails. You get told where to go to, and while there are side areas... they usually only have pickups like those Puzzle Pieces.
While I expect in a Metroidvania freedom to explore with not that much hand-holding usually and Bladechimera is pretty much on rails the whole time the action is good, there are allot secrets and how to get them and it sports a good story that makes you think at spots.
I especially enjoy that you have a choice between guns, throwing weapons and melee weapons. This is actually a major reason I picked up Bladechimera and it is one of few Metroidvanias where you have actual shooting and not only melee.
The bosses are also a real treat, they look great and are fun to fight. Though most of them are not that nail-biting hard like in a Dark Souls game, I was really entertained and challenged towards the latter part of the game.

Sadly a massive miss to me despite loving previous team lady bug games.
Why is 50% of the level design massive straight hallways with two enemies repeating?
Why are does a metroidvania have 30 boring sidequests involving fetching random items or killing a random number of enemies.
Why does my sword bounce off of surfaces it's supposed to plunge into.
Triangle button sword has many context sensitive prompts across the maps that make it uncontrollable in areas despite being one of your best tools.
Story has a cute ending but is generally painful for the 80% of the game.
It's short and not too hard but I'd recommend a lot of metroidvania's before this one, maybe my problems stem from it being more of a castlevania game? but idk i just its more annoying than fun.
