I only had a demo like 13 years ago. I played it over and over again many times. Nostalgia is real ! :)

Almost 20 years ago, when I was young and poor, I used to download all kinds of games, if you know what I mean. At some point, together with an old friend, I came across this game called The Outforce. Was it popular at the time? I'm not sure, but I know there was something great about the game that kept us hooked for a long time. We spent a lot of time playing it, both in single player and multiplayer.
It's a common story for a lot of people and different games, but there's another thing that The Outforce inspired me to do. I used to burn, for my personal use of course, a series of CDs called "Cool Games". The Outforce was number 1 in that series. I used a blue colored marker to write it's name beautifully on the CD and cover. From that point on, I decided that I would do that with all the "cool games" out there. I can't remember how many games were in the series because I either got rid of them or lost them, but I remember XIII being #2 (green marker), Freedom Fighters #3 (red marker), and State of Emergency #4 (yellow marker). Land of the Dead and Original War was also there, but I don't remember its number and color. There were no popular titles in the series at all, just my personal favorites that I enjoyed so much.
It's so great that even after so many years, these classic and hidden gems still pop up on Steam or GOG. It feels great to be able to buy them legally and indulge in nostalgia, trying to relive the days when you were innocent and free from the worries of adulthood. I remember being blown away by the physics, as not many or any at all (at least to my knowledge) had the option to drag your buildings. I used explosions just for fun to see what would happen and how long buildings would drift away after being hit by the shock wave. Good times indeed.
I'm not sure if I'll ever have the time to try it online again, but I'll make sure to at least try to beat this game. It was hard for my young self, but it never stopped entertaining me back then. I recommend The Outforce to anyone who loves early 00's games and RTS maniacs, it's sure to surprise you.

This game is extremely buggy and quite often it just shuts down, also autosave is getting stuck and not loading. Every time you enter new level in campaign, it is highly recommended to save it manually, because you will lose your progress because of already mentioned issues.

Runs as great as I remember. Fun RTS and I'm so happy this has been brought back for modern audiences. Is it a the greatest RTS ever? No, not at all. But it is still fun to play and brings back some great 90s/00s PC fun.
Took me some trail and error to get to a decent screen size with my 4K monitor but it does work and play perfectly when it's set up. Stick with 4 x 3 and old school 800 x 600.

You Are As Beautiful As The Day I Lost You
Big thanks guys to make my favourite Space RTS game work again.
The Outforce is a base build real-time strategy in space, like Startrek Armada or Five Nations. The game has one awesome mechanic, that allows to relocate buildings with a tow ship. You can build walls in space, push your tier 3 defence towers into enemy. An old school complex hardcore RTS, with very mean AI and reliable units.
