Great game the story telling was a masterpiece and the puzzles were good and challenging, as a grown man I'll admit the story drew me in told a story that only movies could. It made me laugh, smile, jump for joy and cry; I always hear about WW2 but the story of WW1 was one that I knew nothing of and I have more respect for all men, women and animals that were heroes of the war to the poor casualties of war.

A story about war and friendship, not just bullets and blood. Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a different kind of World War I game that focuses more on emotions and storytelling than action. Its cartoonish graphics and amazing soundtrack create a nostalgic vibe that’s both heartbreaking and beautiful. Each character has their own story, and their journeys cleverly connect. The gameplay isn’t hard, but the depth and emotion are what really stand out. If you’re looking for a touching, story-driven experience set in wartime, this game is definitely worth playing. Downside? The gameplay is limited, and some puzzles might feel repetitive to some players.

Valiant Hearts isn’t just a game—it’s a deeply emotional journey through one of history’s darkest chapters. After completing it 100%, uncovering every hidden item and story fragment, I can say this game is a powerful blend of education, storytelling, and heartfelt design. The narrative is the soul of the game. Told through the eyes of ordinary people—soldiers, nurses, even a dog—it humanizes World War I in a way few games do. Each character’s arc is grounded in loss, hope, and resilience, and the emotional weight builds with each chapter. The gameplay is puzzle-based and accessible, never frustrating, which keeps the focus on the story rather than skill. While simple, the mechanics are used creatively enough to stay fresh throughout. The hand-drawn art style is stunning—evocative and expressive without being overly graphic. The soundtrack is minimal but used brilliantly, especially during key emotional beats. Going for 100% completion adds a surprising depth to the experience. Collectibles often come with historical facts that paint a broader picture of the war. It doesn’t feel like busywork; it feels like paying respect. In the end, Valiant Hearts isn’t about winning a war—it’s about surviving it, remembering it, and understanding it. It’s not just a game you play. It’s a story you carry with you.

I really tried to play this game on 2 gaming laptops and 1 gaming PC, game works, but fps never goes more than 30 and game is slowed down from 30% to 90%. My max build is RAM 64 GB, 16 GB nvidia, i5, windows 11. All configs for nvidia and the game set to performance. I play 3D games on 120+ fps, but this cant be played.

Great adventure game, one of those pet projects that bigger game companies come up with once in a blue moon. If you are a completionist, I'd suggest that you use a guide for the historical items in order to avoid needless chapter replays.

Basically covered up all the main important battles of WW1,i 'm surprised that they also added the tunnel battle of Vauquois and battle of Chemin des Dames(1917),second battle of the Aisne, which leaded a situation of complete disintegration(so Emile was executed due to killing of an officer).Nice game, quite easy though compare to Machinarium. In war, everyone's life is so fragile.

One of the saddest and most thought provoking pieces of media I have ever played. Even if you dislike puzzle games, the story alone is worth it; Onions will be cut. Emile did nothing wrong

I never gave a game review before, but this game is just different. I have known this game since my childhood. I watch it from GameCaster, but I never got a chance to play because I have no money. As I grew up, I finally stood a chance. Even though I knew all the answers and the ending, this game still amazed me. Great story, Great gameplay ( Except the dig-up mechanism, I hate it), and soundtrack. This game shows how cruel war can be, A life of a father, A loss of love one. This game is worth every penny I spend on it. If you still decide whether to buy or not, don't think too much. I guarantee you will have fun.
