Strange little linear-ish action adventure game with a myriad of unique elements and a neon-soaked, cheerful aesthetic that's very pleasing! The characters are really cute, and Coneru's Vtuber-esque banter while you play the game is very endearing. Things get a little repetitive at times and I got stuck once, but this is pretty good overall, even if there's more style here than substance. You go through the same areas repeatedly and enemies and bosses rarely require thought to take down, making things a bit mindless, but it's still good fun.

Who needs games with dating sim mechanics when the game IS the date? This title is off-beat, funny, enjoyable, and most of all Coneru is extremely kawaii. Tight controls and catchy music are also a plus.

This is one of those wacky, weird games that's just enjoyable and fun. Music slaps as well. It put a smile on my face all the way through 10/10.

i've been looking forward to this game's release for a long time, and i’m definitely not disappointed. everything is a pleasure to experience from the gameplay, graphics, concept art, and illustrations, to the lore, music, and interface. It's genuinely satisfying to play, a very confortable universe to game in. each character, even the side ones, are all well-designed and well-written nothing is left out. i 100% recommend it. huge kudos to the devs amazing job!!!

HEADS UP: If you die on Phase 3 Kizam or Pliton. Hit "From the Title Screen" to get sent to back before the fight. You will lose your drinks but if you have cash you can rebuy some. If you hit "From the Otukimi Lab", you will return to the very first level of the Phase and have to recollect any weapons, money, and lighting rods. You keep the checkpoints but still have to refight every boss to get back to HYDO. Only do this if your build is very weak. Outside of this dumb choice, Coneru is a neato little game, short but full of love. You can tell there was care and the game is full of charm. The controls are responsive and movement feels good and intuitive. Runrun mode unironicallly hits all the dopemine triggers. Combat and killing enemies feels great, the grunt enemies even have some personality and are fun to beat up. There's some jankness when they are on top of you but it is nothing major. The Beams are also a blast to play around with. Aesthetics are good all around. Great music, sound, voices, It's all fine. The levels are also well done and even though we have to repeat them multiple times for the sake of the plot. I think they are all different and appealing and the game changes enough to make replaying on a huge drag(at least until you hit From the Otukimi Lab). My favorite is probably Psycho Road(the invisible block verticle stage) and even the teleporter stages kept growing on me with each passing. 20 USD might be a hard sale for some especially if you're one of those dollar = hour types. I would say around 10-15 USD is a solid worth for me.

After playing through the game, I don't think its worth the price but it is still a fun game. The controls are tight and responsive. The art is great and the voices are perfectly suited for the game. The way you unlocked more abilities for Coneru was done pretty well and fit the theme of going 'on a date'. However, the issues I have with the game are with the story which then ties in to the rest of the issues. ---SPOILERS AHEAD--- It's a platforming game so I didn't have any big expectations on story however, the story feels like it's used to justify reusing the same 4 levels and bosses (except the 3rd loop which has an extra boss) with slight modifications. I was hoping for something more involved with Coneru, Socrates, the Hate Fruit Company and the rest of the cast besides a 'time loop' which resets every time you reach the big boss. You never really leave the city so this game doesn't feel like it has much substance. Starting at the 2nd phase, the difficulty starts to ramp up quick. There are more stage hazards, bosses have more HP and hit harder, enemy placement becomes cheap and hidden behind foreground environments. Furthermore, the last phase of the story made it so if you were to die, you restart at the very first level of that phase. Losing your power-ups, money and what weapon you had so you have to find them again. You keep your warps but you'll be at a weakened state. You then either: have to run through the levels to get your power-ups again or: go straight to the last boss and fight at base stats. This just feels like massive padding to add time to the game through levels you've already played through twice over. Regardless, I had fun playing the game. Coneru is very cute and her in-game quips are enough to justify buying the game, However, with really only 4 levels and 6 bosses repeated 3 times, I don't think the game is worth it's current price of $25.99 CAD (20% off right now for $20.75). I'd say pick up the game on sale if it was about $15 dollars.

The game is very wholesome. Reminds me to Mischief Makers, RockmanX and the music a bit of Kirby. Runs perfect on Archlinux (and probably on Steam Deck too).

I stumbled across this game in the coming soon section on Steam and upon seeing the design of the main character, I had to play the demo. A generic 3D henchman robot with a 2D sprite magical girl superimposed over the top is such a unique and weird combination I kind of just had to see how it worked for myself. And it does work. Wonderfully well. The way the animations sync up is phenomenal. And the gameplay gives both of the characters personalities a chance to shine. With the big robot Socrates pummeling stuff with simple but effective combos and Coneru summoning all manner of things from Shurikens and Black Holes to Emojis and Bowling Balls. Even though it can seem a bit repetitive, the game never gives you a chance to get bored. Constantly leveling up, unlocking new skills, mechanics or things for Coneru to summon every time it seems to start slowing down. The game itself is also pretty funny. With a story that feels like it's ripped straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon. The level designs get longer and more difficult as the game progresses, with the later levels becoming veritable gauntlets. Labyrinths full of tough enemies, spiked walls and swinging hammers. But if you eat enough sweets, you power up and gain the ability to completely bulldoze everything. The huge maze? You can just smash your own path through it. That tough looking platforming segment? You can now double jump clean over it. That huge row of enemies? Shoulder tackle them and watch them all satisfyingly bounce off your screen or into the distance. It's so fun, you start rationing the donuts so when you find a spot you really want to demolish you can. Which is easy to do because everything is cleanly marked out on your map. It feels like one of those games, where you picked it up on a whim because it's cheap and looked super interesting, but nobody had ever heard of it. Only for it to become some insane cult classic in 10 years time worth hundreds of dollars per copy because everyone wants it in their collection. Like Boktai, Tombi! or Solatorobo. Wouldn't have felt out of place on the DS, with the Vtuber avatar chatting away on the bottom screen while you hack and slash away on the top one. Definitely check this one out, at the very least play the demo.

Eating junk food, beating up strangers, and talking to cute people. I went in blind and was pleasantly surprised to be on a date. Even though the platforming is quite simple, I have fun because of the different Coneru beams. I never know what Coneru's mood will bring. I am quite excited to hear Metro Mew's song. The visuals are unique and beautiful. I love the side scrolling text and 3D environment. The enemies are cute and so is the crow. It works well with the Steam Deck. For those like me who have trouble reading the main menu options: •Play -> resume -> start new game •Options -> sound -> language -> return to main menu •Exit
