In fact, Majesty is the only game where your heroes decide on their own what should be done and when, leaving you to try to control them through...

The game is great fun, as long as you're OK with a bit of chaos. The indirect control mechanics is something quite original. I haven't seen anything like it. You will get mad at some of your heroes for the ridiculous behaviour they sometimes show, but overall what they do is sensible. Another issue is the spikes of difficulty that many reviewers here have mentioned. They are quite predictable, though: practically all the missions start out hard, but after you push through the initial onslaught you'll be fine. Recommended for anyone who's curious about unusual mechanics in RTS

Overall, this is a fun and interesting switch on the quest giving game mechanics. I think the only problem I have is that this game gets way too hard, requiring about 10-15 attempts on a level. Last level, I needed to gather 35000 gold in 35 days. I failed so many times, as my kingdom got overwhelmed. I played one where an invincible undead king wanders around with an army, then wrecks your kingdom and you're kinda helpless to do anything about it. Ugh. I don't have the patience to try this level 20x to "figure it out". There's a bit of hits and misses with the concept, but overall its worth checking out.

great Majesty title, not quite as good as previous versions, because i don't think the new "Monsters" themselves are interesting enough, lack of variance, interesting attacks/powers, etc but a fun game in itself for fans of the series :)

A game I had fond memory of. Full of charm and neat ideas. HOWEVER, upon re-playing it now, I found it has some flaws. Difficulty/balance is... lacking, literally. Mission difficulty has no relation to actual difficulty. Some missions are impossible, where you get attacked from multiple sides before you can finish building even the cheapest/fastst hero production building (and since the enemies targets your pesant builders, you cannot finish production). Pray to god. A lot. Modding the game is mandatory, thankfully it's pretty easy to change basic stuff. Aside from that, surviving the beginning of each mission is always the biggest challenge. The hero upgrade system is pointless, as a hero with great stats you made Lord and decided to promote to a new class now had his stats re-rolled and ends up terrible. Waste. Needs more unit personality, variety and individuality (both visual and behavioral). More things to do and buildings to interact with. Overall a good game that could have been much better. Since it's cheap, I still reccomend it.
