𝕋𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕚𝕤 𝕒 𝕡𝕣𝕚𝕞𝕖 𝕔𝕒𝕤𝕖 𝕠𝕗 𝕋ℍ𝕌𝕄𝔹𝕊 𝕟𝕖𝕦𝕥𝕣𝕒𝕝... 𝕀𝕥'𝕤 𝕘𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥 𝕒𝕤 𝕒𝕟 ℝℙ𝔾, 𝕓𝕦𝕥 𝕙𝕠𝕣𝕣𝕚𝕓𝕝𝕖 𝕒𝕤 𝕒 𝕧𝕚𝕕𝕖𝕠𝕘𝕒𝕞𝕖!
Blood Knights is a ridiculous videogame with great RPG elements that kept me engaged and nothing else really... It's an RPG minus the Videogame narrative element and I'll explain why. Blood Knight is firstly a top-down RPG, akin to the famous (or INFAMOUS) Dungeon Siege, but unlike Dungeon Siege, Blood Knights really failed dismally at making me engaged with the characters, and the nonsensical story as a whole. Enter Jeremy, and besides the first question you'll ask yourself: "Who the heck names their protagonist JEREMY", he's really such a lazily-written character... Anyways, Jeremy-boy here is a soldier, a fierce warrior in the army of Rome, a special faction that stands against the ravages of the Vampires. In a twist of fate, Jeremy gets blood-bound to a vampire called Alysa, but soon Jeremy himself is turned into a vampire by an old hag, and now the order of Rome hunts him down to kill him as he's somehow a shame to the entire order (as if it was his choice to turn rogue... like many things in the game, it doesn't make any sense). Now Jeremy and his blood-bound vampire Alysa must fight hordes upon hordes of humans as well as demons and monstruous creatures to save the world and restore the moon (lmfao) The levels are repetitive, and at some point you can tell the devs ran out of ideas... Mr Jeremy here can make a lot of choices in dialogue, some of them funnier than others and his cringe sarcasm is sometimes pure genious... And it's really not Jeremy I have a problem with, but Alysa... Who despite being a main character, only ever says a couple of lines in the entire game lol Worse still is that you'll find yourself using her more than Jeremy as she's a ranged OP character and he's a low HP melee guy who dies in two hits. Your characters can also jump which allows for some fun platforming, and they level up in very RPG-like fashion... The core problem of the game is how it's got no substance, zero, zilch... The sudden glitching, the unfunny humor, decisions making absolutely no sense... I was literally fighting a horde of vampires and then out of no where comes a priest demanding I hand over an artefact I just found... So many questions that Jeremy could've asked but no he acts like it's quite normal that a horde of vampires are hosting a priest of Rome, their sworn enemies, for absolutely no reason. Blood Knights gets a 5/10, solely for the RPG element... If that isn't enough to keep you playing, then you probably should never touch this game.
