Excellent mashup of roguelite and TRPG mechanics. Looking forward to a sequel that polishes off the rough edges and provides more content.

I don't really like the game despite having finished every FE game in existence on hardest difficulty. The graphics are just...yeah I hate them, so the good part had to come from the gameplay entirely. However, the battles become increasingly obnoxious in the second half of the run, especially once you start playing on difficulties which add more evasion to all enemies. This is my biggest gripe with the game...the displayed hit % feels incredibly off. I lost on the final boss on first run because he managed to land a crit on Cetus with 5% to even hit, nvm crit. Not to mention 85% chance to hits are below 50% in actuality while below 50% chance to hit is, well...don't even bother, you'll maybe land 1 out of 10 attempts while the reverse is of course true for when the enemy has this kind of hit chance. There are also precious few ways to increase your hit chance. Instead, the game gives you weapons that decrease your hit chance (e.g. bardiche) and it even has a character unlock requirement based on landing a hit at below 10% hit chance (haha, yeah, good 'luck' with that one, you might get it after 10000 attempts). Plus, weapon advantage barely matters in the increased hit rate sense, whereas on Fire Emblem it would matter to the point that you could mitigate hit % 'bad luck' to a minimum. But especially this being a roguelike makes this hit chance issue a cardinal sin for the potential enjoyment of the game. Builds are useless when only 1 or 2 of your 8+ characters are able to land hits on enemies while the map expects you to split your group across several corners of the map. Furthermore, in the latest run, on the book burning stage, the blood caster girl decides to just leave *after* you start the map, completely scuffing the planned strategy beforehand and I ended up losing because of it (and not enough characters being able to land their hits). And that is what caused me to ultimately write this negative review. My entire time playing this game has felt like a waste of time strategically, and the only bit of joy I got out of it was from the interactions at the start of a map between the lead characters. In conclusion, only buy this if you're ok with sticking to the difficulties which do not raise enemy evasion and if you don't mind \negative/ eye candy graphics, doing re-runs with your randomly decided DEI flavored character designs (the only flavor) that you'll be able to recruit. Or if you're a masochist who just wants to feel pain constantly while trying to unlock 'harder' difficulty modes; you'll definitely find that here in spades.

This game seems pretty neat. I love Fire Emblem and other tactics games. However I was hard-locked out of the game because I somehow opened a menu during the tutorials (while the screen dimmed and the popup tutorial messages were triggering) but was unable to close the menu or move through the tutorial after that. No keyboard or controller input could do anything in the game so I had to force quit. I'm willing to give it another go if there are more patches coming that are addressing issues like that, but at the moment I just don't have the patience for getting stuck again.

The game mechanics and engine are good, like really good. There is no jank that usually comes with games made in Fire Emblem's vein. I bought this game tonight and have already sunk 4 hours into this thing... Devs, YOU DID A GREAT JOB. Of course, this is an early review and I haven't really scratched the surface too deep, but it is ticking all the marks so far. Will update when I get to endgame.

It's good but not great. The biggest flaw is the lack of variation on the levels. I really enjoy it, but I keep on seeing the same levels over and over. Sure, the last 2 levels should should be the same, but all of the other matches start repeating very fast. But I still sunk a great deal of time playing this game. It was enjoyable. Just wish the devs addressed this one issue!

The fire emblem juice is so strong. a little brain-burning at times, but very satisfying to roguelike through.

Honestly Great Game for the price. Im already 40 hours in between all of my play-throughs lol. The game has plenty of challenges on new runs to satisfy a Tactical Strategy RPG Enjoyer such as myself.

Been waiting for a game to hit that "fire emblem but it's a roguelike" niche for a while. All in all? Solid. Biggest complaint: runs are *long*. Like, much more campaign than run. Second biggest complaint: there are some weird UI issues and bugs. That said, the class and xp system is really fun to engage with, squad building is interesting, and I very much find myself wanting to play more maps, unlock codex entries (which I wish were viewable from in game instead of just the main menu), and complete achievements.
