Better than at the launch, but still not completely fixed, a lot of work to do. But it is a nice sim.

Its a better game than when it first released, it can run smoothly now and playing online VATSIM is easier and less laggy.

ive got all the specs for minimum, ive set all of the graphics at lowest, and i can maybe get like 45 fps. when i opened it, it lagged out my entire pc. It takes like 10 minutes to load, and its just really expensive. I got 2020 and its much better. if your just looking to have fun and fly planes, get the cheapest 2020 version. Much more worth the price, and very similar graphics.

This game is obnoxiously buggy for a release like this. It is a bummer that this game is not going to be enjoyable (career mode wont hose you and crashout, the scenarios spawn you at a full vertical and the flight controls will be responsive and do what they are supposed to do) for at least another year. This game should have never been released.
And if this isnt already a disappointment, they switched if from alpha release to beta and GAVE YOU A FEW PLANES. If you were dumb enough to fall for this scam of a game, microsoft, they pissed on you even harder by saying sorry and giving you $4.99 worth of DLC content. ($125.00 if you had asked them)

This game is not worth it, and it's not even the glitches or the shutdown's, it is the terrrrrible career mode that tells you to go to an airport and then does'nt explain which one, tells you to fly into holding patterns that make no sense!! You try Free fly and the aircraft are challenging to fly which is great but then it just goes beyond that to learning operational manuals don't even help! I was lured into this game by seeing the amazing beautiful videos on youtube don't fall for it! I was'nt even able to get my money back for a refund!! I hope this post finds someone about to buy the game and saves them!! if You must buy this game do not buy the high end model the aircraft are not worth the extra money!!

Worst and buggiest game of all time. It's an absolute mess. It has been many months since it was released, still buggy as hell. Oh, but they released new aircraft in the marketplace! Cool!
Absolute disaster.

I've put in over 100 hours on this game and wanted to post a review. I normally don't bother but just wanted to say a few things in this case for others to beware of:
1) game looks great
2) VR is pretty good though not very easy to hit buttons with controllers. Easier just to use mouse.
3) Lots of bugs still. I play career mode which is an interesting way to get into the different modes of playing the game. However, the bugs are punishing. Some examples: I like to use the aid that shows you blue arrows and boxes where the game wants you to go. Well sometimes it tells you to go to a Hold Short box, but then dings you for entering a runway without permission even though you just landed on the runway and haven't exited it yet. You are going towards the turnoff with the hold short box on it. You loose points but minor compared to the next example. In the next example you start out checking out your aircraft removing covers and chalks. Then enter the plane/helicopter (happened to me multiple times) only to have the game immediately bring up a dialog box saying you crashed the aircraft. You didn't even get in the aircraft yet! Then you loose that mission, a lot of reputation, and you now have to repair the aircraft. Very annoying going from an S to a C in reputation. The third example, and not an exhaustive list, is when you skip forward after getting to a cruise altitude to put you at your next goal (approach, Search location for S&R missions, etc, the game puts you on the ground at full speed causing you to crash and loose the mission. Also, very annoying to loose the mission, reputation, and if you are in your own aircraft you loose money in repairs too.
Summary: all in all it looks visually great, sounds are good, systems are nice, charts and planner are good. The major playability bugs that are still in the game so long after release are very disappointing especially given how much you pay for this game. It would definitely be worth the money given how much is in the game but the bugs like the ones I mentioned above happen way too often to be overlooked.

The Career mode is addicting.
The key is to use every dime to buy more aircraft, specifically 172's, Dracos, and the Corvalis. It doesn't really matter which career, though the best mission opportunities are in light transport. I built to 200 aircraft and earn 3 million per hour flown. I spend most flights in West Africa as the airports are reliable without crazy mountains. If you are in South America with mountains, use a Draco.
Once you get over 100-200 planes, switch your strategy (unless they've fixed the maintenance drudgery). Take the hit, and move to Cessna caravans, 75% of the Draco/172 income, but you do it with 1/7 of the plane count and maintenance drudgery.
The biggest unaddressed pain in the game is maintenance of a large fleet. A few simple steps would help immensely. Clearly the devs don't play the game at a serious level or this would be fixed, like showing maintenance hours remaining on each plane in the box. And/or after maintaining a plane, don't throw me back to the start of a 100 plane list, put me at the next one. Simple stuff.
Avoid getting shoved into a blacked out airport landing by confirming the mission hours, and always pre-check your destination airport for runway length or obstacles before accepting a mission.
Buy the cheapest insurance once you perfect your landing skills, and don't forget to turn on crew after you buy a plane. Yes, you can fly a mission with crew on.
Learn new aircraft in the General area where mistakes are free.
Only fly aircraft in career you know intimately as mistakes kill your career ratings big time.
Early on, flying in 3x sim rates gains mission money, but once you have more aircraft, flying at normal sim speeds gains huge passive income at real time spent flying, not mission published times. A 3 hour mission flown in an hour pays for 1 hour of passive time, plus the full mission fee.
Be aware that MS Flight is a game, not a true sim. If you fly within the parameters, it flies fairly accurately, but make an error, and they go out of their way to make you fail the mission (crash) ... black runways at night, run your trim run to full climb, horrid landing patterns, mountains mid pattern, etc. Engine RPMs that will not taxi without either stalling or speeding etc., Taxi patterns on opposite ends of the airport to make you spend endless time to get you to speed... tons of time of wasted nonsense.
Tip, there is no 20 Knot speed limit on the runway, provided the game believes you are taking off or landing and taxing off of the runway, but if you miss a comm, and they decide you've missed your hold and are now taxing to parking, then speed limits apply even on the runway.
Tip, on landing, you can avoid that last moment comm nonsense on final by forcing the game to a straight long final, with no penalties even though the controller will say to use a left pattern.
TRIM: Bind two keys to control up/down elevator trim, and turn off auto elevator trim. The auto pilot will use that trim to crash you if you get slow, (it's a game), so the moment you hear the stall warning after forgetting to add power leveling out from a descent, hit sim pause, and manually clean up trim with the trim wheel, Next, Turn OFF autopilot, to clear out the trim, level the aircraft, turn autopilot back on.
Landing a LONG FINAL: get to landing speed and full flaps at 2 miles and 500', hold speed and let autopilot trim you out. Turn off auto pilot and lower trim for runway glide path ... by holding speed you can butter landings. A 172 is 65. If you slow below that, you will last minute wander or drop. When you are 5' over the runway, gently pull back and cut power. If you are floating, start killing trim and or flaps. Once you master a long final, this skill will map well to a left hand pattern. Trim out on base.
On the Draco, you can land at 60 without flaps to avoid the dumb over-speed penalties... but it is fun to go a 1/4 mile at 40 knots full flaps too. Draco takeoff is so fast I do it without flaps to avoid the penalty. I set 80% power with brakes set then let it fly. Take off at 50 knots.
X-plane is a much truer sim, but has less of the fun, so I find it's worth having both, and spend most of my time in MS. Don't forget to check out the MS photo challenges and the roto-craft offerings.
On Roto-craft, bind a key to full power your engine (set and forget), and bind your throttle to the collective; also bind your top hat on your joystick to active trim for simple hovering. I have managed to get every certification without too much trouble, but AVOID roto career missions, as one mistake KILLS your ratings, and flying without a G1000 is a non starter for me.
Cheers.

I have almost 2,000 hours in MSFS 2020 and this game is a massive step backwards. Performance is worse. Content from 2020 isn't there. Ability to easily and freely add in custom liveries? Nope not allowed now. On top of all the issues they also decided hey wouldn't it be a good idea to completely change the control scheme from 2020 and not let you easily set it back to the way you are used to. This game should be avoided at all costs.
