Cozy, open exploration, and customization. Oh and cooking. Great game!

lovely art style, fun little simulator with a unique storyline and interesting puzzles. played for about 18 hours to complete fully and would definitely recommend. it has a few bugs but usually only placement issues with items not landing correctly. nothing that can't be fixed by just closing and opening again so it didn't effect my gameplay much at all.

I found the game far more stressful than relaxed or cozy, really disappointed in this one

Games is a solid base, but it heavily needs playtesting to squash out bugs and unbearably tedius "mechanics"

I am likely just not the correct demographic, but I am left wanting more and feeling unsatisfied with the current lack of direction in this title. Where is it going? cosmetics. What are they fixing? basic things. What are their plans for features in the future? Steamdeck. I played for about 20 hrs, and decided to let it cook, so i didnt ruin my new player feeling. But the game got samey and repetitive really fast. and half a year later almost im still waiting for it to cook. It seems every title does this and im just over it. The game feels like a cash grab under the guise of a wholesome title, not a passion project. Expand availability, before the game has any meat. This is a vegetable stand, just like the products in the title itself, almost poetic. That said, you get what you see. Don't expect anything else. NOW WITH THAT BEING SAID, the devs might be experiencing burnout, there might be stuff going on behind the scenes and a week from now the game might release something that totally makes me look like an idiot in this review (Dont tell the devs but i really really hope this is the case). HOWEVER, I dont think I have seen any communication from the team concerning new map locations, new customers, new food types, new difficulty mechanics, new busses in a new game + where you become your son/ daughter and take over the fruit stand, but thats the issue. No seeming direction, just holidays. And weve had holidays our entire lives, or is it just me. Also, the steamdeck addition, could mean theyre needing funding in order to make the game what they envision, but if thats the case, why focus on cosmetics and holidays so much? Its not a live service title with a huge following. It seems like a waste of resources, OR a bandaid solution for a dying horse before its first birthday. The solution? Solid communication of direction with your community. You guys need some hype. Its a promising idea, just seems like a waste. If this game was made for just children in mind, THEN THE DEV TEAM DID A WONDERFUL JOB!!!!! Its fun, its cosey, its reassuring, its healthy, and its safe. I love that for the kids, I wish there was more of that when i was growing up in gaming and if thats the case, my hats are off to the devs!!! But theres a hunger in the market for stuff, like this in the adult realm, we're just generally the introverted, quiet types that don't want to voice our opinions normally. If you love holidays, this is the game for you!

At it's current state? No. There were too many bugs and glitches to list. Some were so bad that you'd have to reopen the game again. Once the bugs and glitches are fixed, I will change my review, but for now, it's a thumbs down. Aside from that, I really do enjoy the gameplay. I enjoyed serving the customers, the cooking, the driving. Everything really. I purchased this game when it's one sale and I say it's worth it. I even bothered to get all the achievements. Endgame-wise, not much replayability once you complete the story. Spoilers for end of story:
I was let down that you didn't cater to the NPCs that made it to Grandmas farewell party thing.
Not much to spend money on either when you hit endgame. Wish there's a way to dump your money on something useful.

I'm on the fence about this game. Picking whether I liked it or not was complicated as there are some good things and then... The tedium ... There is *way too much* tedium for a game that is supposed to be relaxing and some things that the game straight up doesn't tell you. Never tells you you can sprint (that's the least of them, at least if you played a game before you might find what to press to sprint), never tells you which container to use to get water, I had to look it up because my instinct was to use the jerrycan (which seems weird but you use gasoline to make a smoothie at some point) and then I used the jug but it didn't seem to work (you had to place it under the pump but it's finnicky so it didn't seem to work at first). It's also not very intuitive with how many items seem so be used for very specific needs, you'd think there would be a separate object/container just for water that you'd just have to refill every so often. I've had to look up where to find a frying pan, since some items seemingly need to be cooked but I have found no way to cook them yet despite going through every shop and gas station, the game does seem to expect me to already have a way to do it though. I have the oven, I bought the tray for the bread. No frying pan. It turns out the game just expected me to know that I was supposed to just... Put the ingredient in the oven using no container. Once again counter intuitive since other cooking methods need a tool. I also struggled to find a sickle and it turns out you had a quest to do for that (Once again, counter intuitive since every other tool is available in stores) so I'm guessing that's the case for the pan. Which quest will it be? I don't want to go back and forth in between every town only for the NPC to ask for food I can't make because I do not have the tool they ask for. Making sandwiches is easily one of the most annoying things and it honestly made it so I dreaded having to make more later on. While having exclusive ingredients per island seem like a great idea, I feared having to come back each time I needed something specific from an island, so of course I had to stock up which is not great since that would mean having to get more crates for more clutter (tidying up isn't really as fun as I thought it could be. Too many things, too little space.) This one is probably just a me thing but I do not like driving the bus. I much prefer just running and abandoning the fruitbus until I needed to make orders, which surely doesn't help with any of this. I have so many mixed feelings because on the other hand, I like the cooking, I like exploring (on foot), I like the look and feel of the game... It just needs a whole lot of tidying up to be better. It needs to be more intuitive.

Glitches make it impossible to play. (it just restarted the game while loading, and then all the cut scenes and triggers glitched out and made me have to reinstall)

As much as I love the story and the mechanics, I cannot recommend the game in its current state. There are a lot of bugs, such as the coin icon on the tip jar z-fighting, audio issues, dialogue not showing when it should, etc. After I finished the story of the game, the ability to save was grayed out. I left the game after completing my final achievement, and checked to see if the game saved my progress. Unfortunately, it did not, and I lost all of my progress that I made after finishing the story. This is honestly my biggest reason for not recommending this game. I really hope they fix all the bugs, especially the save one.
