"Even sci-fi shows don't go this far." (Game, breaking the 4th wall)
So I finished the game and I'm very happy with it. The story and writing are very good. Sound and visuals are high-quality and varied. It feels like the whole experience was created with immersion in mind. The English translation is janky, but still easy to understand.
This is Season 1 of a detective story, comprised of 4 chapters. You can approach each case 2 different ways: scientifically or superstitiously. Depending on how fast you go, one playthrough can take 4-6 hours and then you can go again the other way if you want to. Is it worth replaying? I would say, yes. You will meet different people and might got to different locations.
The reason I found the scientific path more entertaining is that it feels very convincing. We all know those games that just try to explain all their nonsense away by throwing a bunch of science fiction mumbo jumbo at you and none of it makes sense. Or it just feels like lazy writing. This is NOT one of those games. I love the fact that I was sold on a lot of these ideas. It could totally be true or even based on real-life studies.
I'm looking forward to the next season.
