Nice little game! Very chill, for the price it's definitely worth it if you're into the resource management/colony building genre. Definitely recommend.

It is a nice game. It is Frostpunk lite. Addictive, very nicely paced and calming. With the occassional sky pirate is fun.

TLDR: Now I literally don’t play any other game. I would like to start by describing the type of gamer I am – borderline ADHD, constantly trying new titles and indie games, and always finding myself bored, unsatisfied, and just plain mad at the fact that no game I ever play seems to be engaging and/or replayable enough for me to keep going for more than a week’s time. I go through phases where I would play one game for ages, maybe even obsessively so, forgetting all other responsibilities and duties I have in my real life, and then just completely quit, never to return to it properly again. Occasionally I might find myself going back to one or two of them years down the track in hopes of ‘reliving the magic’, and then being quickly reminded of the flaws that drove me to quit, I would uninstall after a day or so. I mostly play indie games as a result, as I find most AAA games or major multiplayer titles to be frustrating, draining, and just plain boring to play over and over again. This game is not the game. This game is engaging. But not in a way that makes you feel terrible or tired after a few hours. This game is engaging in a dynamic way that is slow and steady, allowing you to savour the little things. Its also engaging in the way that it gradually adds more complexity to your playing experience, but the pacing is done in a way where you are being led through the experience gradually, and you never feel overwhelmed or helpless. This game is replayable. You never find yourself bored or frustrated enough to just leave and never come back. The game has RPG-style quests that are simple and fun to complete, the best ones being the ones that require you to travel around the map. This game is well-designed. You can tell someone sat down and put in the effort to make the resource and time values in every aspect of powering up costly but not unfun. You feel that you have to dedicate substantial resources, time, or effort to make progress, but not in a way that frustrates you or makes you feel annoyed. If you’re more ‘hardcore’ than I am, you might like the higher difficulty levels which are available. This game is beautiful. Undoubtedly the best part of the experience is the day/night cycles that occur organically as you play, along with the travel mechanics of your city. Let me tell you, theres nothing quite like the beautiful sunrise which bathes your city in a golden glow every morning that puts a smile on your face. Every click, navigation move, sick townsperson, market purchase, move, or even just the lights turning on at night – sounds satisfying, unique, atmospheric, and just plain fun. Theres also nothing quite like the music in this game that adds ambience to the incredible sound design. Its probably the best soundtrack to any RPG game I have ever experienced, with very few exceptions. At times it sounds like something out of a Ghibli film, other times reminiscent of Zelda. It seems to capture the magic of the airborne city vibe so well. To conclude, this is probably one of the most satisfying games money can buy. If you like nature themes and the vibes of Outer Wilds, Zelda, Root, Everdale, or like titles, along with movies like Castle in the Sky, Howl’s Moving Castle, shows like Avatar the Last Airbender, or other titles with fantasy/steampunk themes, you will absolutely love this game. As a long-time steampunk lover myself, I absolutely love the city in the sky aspect of this game. This game doesn’t seem to be re-inventing the wheel every step of the way like some titles try so hard to achieve, instead it just sticks to the roots of what makes a great single-player RPG. In other words, this game is just plain fun, simple, and replayable. This is the only game I play. Yes, I now only play this game seriously. There are only one or two other titles I play occasionally, and only one of them is available on steam. Did I mention that I love this game?

The quests where you have to look for 2 small little things all over the map ? That's not really fun. Especially when there's no clues at all... And there is a LOT of them. its like 50% of the game at this point. I loved this game, looking forward the next updates. ( I WOULD LOVE to be able to redesign alll my city while keeping everything i currently have at the skydocks !)

While the game is fun for a while, it can become quite repetitive over time. I would recommend it primarily for players who are satisfied with 10-20 hours of gameplay for its cost. The beginning of the game is the most enjoyable—building, scavenging, recruiting, exploring, and fighting. Each new recruit feels meaningful, and new buildings significantly enhance convenience. However, once everything is researched, upgraded, and your crew and city layout are optimized, the city almost becomes self-sufficient. Pirates pose little threat, and the gameplay can start to feel a bit dull. In my first playthrough, my city reached 270 villagers, producing a net surplus of food and water, with a speed of 98%. It consumes only small amounts of coal (-3.1) and wood per tick (-2), making resource management quite easy. I’ve fully explored the green and black biomes, and two-thirds of the desert/orange biome. Pirate bases that offer significant resistance seem rare, or perhaps I haven’t encountered them yet. Unless you’re immersed in the quests and storyline, boredom may set in, especially once the city is fully developed. I’m hopeful that the upcoming "hard mode" might introduce more challenges and keep the game engaging. Combat has some interesting elements but can feel a bit clunky. You have ground targets for your cannons and aircraft for your hangar and pilots. Most enemies are defeated quickly, aside from some bosses. One boss had an engaging mechanic where it would submerge and then reappear, forcing you to predict its movements and position accordingly. I wish there were more encounters like this, rather than the frequent, easily defeated pirates, which can feel like interruptions once exploration is underway. The camera system also needs some adjustment. It can move freely or track the ship, but I wish the ship tracking mode allowed for more zoom-out. I've accidentally hit my own ship with a cannon a few times because the tracking-camera is too close and my city too big, making it difficult to see targets properly.
