This is my jam. A bit rough around the edges currently, but that's definitely part of the charm. Why can I lasso a man and put him in my pocket? I'm not sure, but I'm glad I can. I am a bit disappointed that you can't cook the baby though... come on we all must have tried it ;]
Straddling the line...
This game really, really rides the thin rubicon with "good jank"/early access on one side, and "how did they ship this?" on the other. I loved the demo of the game and bought it immediately on the basis of that. I don't regret that decision. There's no underselling the atmosphere and weirdness of this game: it truly is like you popped in a spaghetti western, took various psychedelic drugs, and there was about as much resulting logic in the actual game mechanics as there is in those pulpy films.
Chambers is the kind of game you puzzle out. It doesn't force-feed you its mechanics, and many things - gear bonuses, for example - will be decoded by you in time. Against all odds, there is at least one (1) likable character. The questing is deeply ad-hoc, mostly because the map is borderline-unreadable. I love all of this.
What I do not love is when the game simply does not work - which happens often. Sometimes you spawn in a safe zone and there's just randomly a gunfight going on and you get killed again. There's a bounty system: hysterically, if you knock out an enemy, you can slap them on your horse like any other inventory item and carry them to where they're wanted. Amazing - until you put your bounty in "horse storage", do something else for a bit, call your horse... and it's a different horse. Your horse hasn't died - in fact you may find it elsewhere later. But calling "your horse" will usually just summon a new horse that has lost all your stuff.
There's enemies who will hit you through walls. There's cool, huge enemies that appear out of nowhere - a prime example of the cool visual design philosophy of the game - but you can neither see them nor react in any meaningful way, so you're just perishing tick by tick because this random thing cropped up in your hitbox. The theoretical scope of the game outpaces the reality of its implementation. That will happen a lot if you play it now. Sometimes it's worthy of that flowery excuse about "scope" vs "implementation" - other times, it's "the game says one thing and slaps you in the face 17 times by doing another", which is more or less a far less generous interpretation of the prior sentence.
I am glad I bought this game; but I would caution anyone who expects functional systems to steer away for now, else you'll be frustrated. I was frustrated too, and still am - but it's over the line where the fun outweighs the jankiness. If you're wary of that sort of thing, which I believe is fully valid, avoid now but please do check in later. There's a precious few games that straddle this line, and I think Chambers will end up being one that sticks the landing.
Also the soundtrack is genuinely one of the best I've heard in a long time?? Not sure how they sourced all this, but it's actually wonderful.

Yeehaw Chuckleflips, and welcome to Dallas, Texas Current Day.
Jokes aside, this game rules. You can do quickdraws, flips, use a hat and lasso as a grappling hook, get piss drunk, feed people veggies, Die a lot, and more.
It is ugly as sin (affectionate) Hard (affectionate) and I dislike the fake bonfires.
Support this Dev and go watch JFJ. I must support my fellow texans, and this game rules.
