Combat Mission: Red Thunder Reviews

A great game if you want to reproduce the scale and distances of company to battalion level tactical combat on the Eastern front in World War II. Fairly deep game mechanics allow for multiple, overlapping factors to effect combat, an example ; tank crews can panic and bail out of their vehicles only to be ordered back in after a couple of game turns. A very serviceable physics model reproduces ballistics and damage, one example : nearby infantry can be injured by spalling from non-penetrating hits on armoured vehicles. Most of the scenarios are based on actual historical engagements so you can try and re-write history.
