I'll say I enjoyed it for what it was, but I wouldn't recommend too much. As a fan of tycoon games, it's easy to be drawn in, but I don't think it's quite worth the purchase.
Things I enjoyed:
I liked having a spider that I overleveled and was just killing everything. Very silly, did not work well for my dungeon...
You have to really focus on the fine tuning of being able to have the adventurers go through your dungeon (At first I was really focusing on that, but then in later phases of the game I honestly stopped caring)
The overall feel of designing your dungeon and boss placements was enjoyable.
Things that could be worked on:
I want to kill all the adventurers, not let them go through all willy nilly. Personally, I think a game mode where the adventurers scale naturally and you have to keep up would be more fun that spoon feeding them success.
This game focuses heavily on potion sales, so much that it feels more focused on potions than it is on the dungeon aspect.
Feels like a game based on dungeons, you would expect there to be a better system for loot. There are only consumables, and then a blacksmith and enchanter for buffs. Just something I think could be worked on.
There doesn't seem to be much replayability. Other games of the genre have ways to keep you interested, but once you hit full achievements, it will just be another game in the library
Edit:
Rolling shop 400 times for one monster for achievement isn't very fun

I really enjoy this game, and i hope more people do as well. I'm thankful that they are updating it and have a roadmap in mind. This game reminds me a little bit of the board game "boss monster" in a sense. I only hope that the devs plan to continue updating the game and with lots of more of creative and customization options in the future, more monters/heroes/heroines, and more quests/objectives pls! I only reccommend the game when its on sale for its current content. At least until there was more to do. Although i didn't quite finish the game i practically completed my dungeon and didn't know what else to do... But it was overall fun and a decent tower defense management and almost idle game imo. Keep in mind I only played it before the current update. But i figured i leave a review hoping the game gets more traction from the audience/gaming community.
TLDR:
-Needs more content, since some players may finish the game quickly or run out of fun things to do.
-Still fun and satisfying when playing customizing dungeons
-Has very much potential to grow imo
-Reminds me a little bit of the board game "boss monster".
-They have a roadmap.

Im enjoying the game so far! Id like to see dungeon floors added. Id totally brain rot myself all the way to dungeon level 100... Maybe a way to partly customize your monsters and roll for their abilities, kinda like the way you roll for your monsters. Thanks for the game!

In Dungeon Tycoon, players are tasked with constructing a dungeon that balances challenge and entertainment for visiting heroes. This involves designing layouts, placing traps, summoning monsters, and strategically positioning treasures. The goal is to create an experience that is both perilous and rewarding, encouraging heroes to spend gold within the dungeon while ensuring they survive to share their tales, thereby boosting the dungeon's reputation. The game also incorporates research elements, allowing players to unlock new features, creatures, and enhancements to continually evolve their dungeon.

Visually, the game employs a voxel-based art style, offering a charming and colorful aesthetic. While some players have expressed a desire for more detailed graphics, the current design effectively complements the game's lighthearted and strategic gameplay. The user interface is intuitive, facilitating smooth navigation through the various management options.
Community feedback highlights the game's engaging mechanics and creative freedom. Players appreciate the ability to experiment with different dungeon designs and strategies. However, some have noted areas for improvement, such as the need for more comprehensive tutorials and enhanced progression systems to maintain long-term engagement. The developers have been responsive, regularly releasing updates to address bugs and incorporate player suggestions.
As of now, Dungeon Tycoon holds a "Mostly Positive" rating on Steam, with 78% of over 1,000 user reviews expressing satisfaction. This indicates a generally favorable reception, with room for growth as the developers continue to refine the game.

Final Verdict:
Dungeon Tycoon offers a fresh and engaging take on the management simulation genre, allowing players to unleash their creativity in dungeon design. While there are areas that could benefit from further development, the game's solid foundation and active community support make it a worthwhile experience for fans of strategy and simulation games.

Had a ton of fun building up my dungeon and watching the heroes go through it as it evolved. I somehow didn't understand that I don't get the gold in non-locked chests at the end of the day so progress took a hella while lmao.

this is a good game and is very stable it did not have a single crash! but its tutorial could use some work like it does not tell you how to destroy things, also it just is not big enough for the price it should last for at least 15 hours for it to be worth it.

Is this game fun? Yes, at first.
But after a while, you just end up sitting around waiting for the heroes to wander through your dungeon with nothing to do. There are in fact so few things you can do during the day (open hours) that I ended up setting max speed and stepping away until the day was over. Then I would update my dungeon, and run another day at max speed.
Make a change, wait a few minutes, make another change, wait a few minutes. The game loop slows down more as your dungeon grows and becomes popular, so while you initially might have 12 customers in a day, when you have 30-40 in a day it takes quite some time between your actions, and the fun disappears.
As some people have noted, this is more of running a "Potion Shop" disguised as a dungeon, as the more potion vending machines you have, the more money you make, and the faster you can expand your dungeon.
Having the selection of mobs hidden behind RNG limits what you can do as well, so you don't have the freedom to build your dungeon as you want, but by what RNG lets you build.

The game is a nice concept but it lacks pacing and stability. It is still fun, but short lived experience. $15 for a game that wouldn't keep you engaged past 15 hours might seem a fair value for some. When I find much better indie titles that kept me entertained for well over 100 hours for the same price I regret this purchase. If being low value compared to other games was the only issue I could still recommend DT but it has some major issues that drag this title down. Pacing of progress is drawn out but if you look up a guide on research choices you can mostly negate this. The worst detractor is stability. This game crashes a lot. It seems the developer knew this is an issue and still lets people buy this crashfest while also asking those who paid for the game to QA it and give them crash reports so he can try to fix what should have been working from the start. There are other minor issues but I am not here to write a book.
This game is fun and very close to being something I can recommend but the poor pace, low replay ability, and extreme stability issues make me think you might want to wait a year and see if they have fixed their issues and perhaps catch it on sale.
