So, this game is pretty fun. One thing I'd like to see changed is the font. It's so hard to read and it takes me a longer time to read out things because of it.

A very smoothly-executed roguelike deckbuilder with the bones of a game you already know. There's a lot to like about this game - I think the art style in particular and the effort put into the cards is very appealing. Overshadowed by Balatro in the zeitgeist but I think it's on the same level. As with many deckbuilding games it's a little rough to be at the mercy of RNG - it's particularly so for this game because of the blackjack roots and because runs can be quite lengthy. For me it's missing a little bit of an indescribable X-factor but it's extremely well put together.

This game is FIRE. Super fun with all the extra added cards, not to mention how expansive the game is. I had only played the demo and didn't expect anything more after beating the game once, but all of a sudden a bunch of new content got unlocked/showcased for me! Great game, 11/10, would gamble again.

An incredible mix of rougelike card game, with a splash of D&D. Homages to Magic: the Gathering cards, and hearthstone give it some nostalgia. A game for anyone who likes critical thinking, and a good challenge.

Disappointed by the game. -Graphics try to be throwback but actually hard to read. -Weird lag/pauses. This game doesn't feel smooth. -Card system. Its not well planned out and doesn't really help you learn. Maybe I will try it again but it just wasn't inviting.

Great game and has been my favorite lately. I started with the free demo, and put in 9 hours on that and knew at that point I should just buy the full game. I have over 40 hours playtime on this game! Great music and pixel graphics. The game is a rouge-like vs. blackjack game with assorted cards to collect that do different things. I only wish this game was on mobile also, as it would be an instant purchase for me! It would be ideal for iPad.

One of the best roguelike deckbuilders ever for me, but one of the most frustrating games to 100% Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers is made in such a way that even though it's based on Blackjack, you have vast absurd means to interfere with how the game plays out. In a way I think it's genius. There are so many cards, I mean, cards, not the numeric cards but rather cheat cards, these are your tools to mess with your opponents play, but the same goes for them, they will hijack you back too. The goal is forming the most unfair deck to ensure nobody can win against you. Due to game's nature, every run is kind of funny and chaotic. Rng still exists but you have a lot of ways to manipulate it as well. And if you don't know Blackjack, it might be a very good opportunity to learn it through this game since it teaches you super quick. I have nothing negative to say about the game itself, maybe except there could be PvP mode, it would probably a banger but oh well, achievements rant below: As for the achievements, ugh. Beat the game with every starting deck 5 times (to unlock their corresponding max difficulty) among 17 unique decks. Not to mention some of these decks are horrible to play on the highest difficulty. And then there's this massive card pool, and you'll have to beat the game using each of them at least once. It's a grind fest of restarts and more runs. But all in all, Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers gets a solid A+

Finally got to this in my backlog and I gotta say, I really don't understand these negative reviews. Despite its looks, this is just as strategic as Balatro and honestly a bit more my speed. The crux of the game is leveraging your odds and knowing when to throw in the towel. Your goal is not to play as many cards as you can to get some crazy number, it's about making smart choices and ideally getting a really nasty deck. I went back-and-forth against the President with a few duplicated Hierophant cards and a couple business cards for a good 10 minutes before losing to a dragon, and I think that's the beauty of a game that really leans into what it wants to be like this does. The sound design and music is fantastic, the gameplay loop eases you in while still refraining from becoming mindless, and is absolutely rife with references (don't think I didn't see what you did with the Bard's chip count). There's about every "King" or "Queen' pun you could think of (shoutout Queen of the Stone Age) and such a variety of cards that you're encouraged to keep playing whether you're winning or losing — which I think is the most important part. There's also a surprising amount of customization through your "tavern ID," which only further invests me in both the gameplay and tavern-crawling environment. I'm glad to see the Balatro developer himself endorsed this, but sad that people have compared this so unfairly in the first place when this already stood out among an extremely saturated genre at launch. This truly feels like a dungeon crawler and is even bite-sized enough to run on my MacBook, which is something that understandably fewer and fewer devs are allowing but certainly wins it bonus points from me. Check it out.

I would sum up this game as nice, but underwhelming. The pixel graphics are serviceable, nothing flashy. The gameplay is intuitive and quick to pick up. Each run is just the right length that you can have a quick session without a serious time commitment, but it's also very replayable if you want to hunker down for longer. Ultimately, it's fun for someone like me who's perpetually looking to fill the void left behind by Balatro, but it doesn't have that hypnotic magnetism games like Balatro, Clover Pit, or Black Jacket have. It's a nice, casual way to kill time, similar to how mobile games used to be before they all became soulsucking cash grabs. I would say its main flaw is that there's just not enough variety; yes, there's a bunch of different starting decks you can try, and there are a few branching points your run can take, but none of it really makes a significant difference. The variety of cards you can obtain throughout your run is fairly limited, too, so it's very easy to lock onto a few favorites and utilize them in practically every run. All in all, it's quite same-y. But if you're looking to just turn off your brain and chill for a bit, it's a solid choice for that.
