I got my ass kicked & Shot and turn into a robotic badass who diffs anyone who gets in my way. What more can I say? Having this game for so cheap is such a steal. I feel like I am scamming the developer who made this by buying this masterpiece. It's like dishonored & cyberpunk combined.

The game is great. I played it on XBOX 360 back in the day. This version had glaring performance issues that I couldn't easily solve, mainly a massive stutter every time I accessed a console or ADS'd the guns. Some folks have apparently been able to solve it with registry edits or some other relatively painless fixes, but they didn't work for me. This one is a no from me due to issues from the port, or lack of compatibility with modern systems. Too bad because I was looking forward to revisiting it.

For the year of its release this is actually a nice game to play. Enemies can be difficult to deal with depending on the difficulty you are playing on (duh). Always on heavy discount :) till one day i decided to try it after a mate's recommendation.

Highly recommend for the story, good sense of progression, fun FPS action, cool artwork, and the option to go stealth through everything. All around an excellent game!

Really fun game with many aspects of the story that today are more relevant than probably ever. The ambient sound is contributing much to the general atmosphere of the game, the pacing is nice and even today the graphics are good enough to not be seen as a limiting factor. All in all I'd prefer Mankind Divided, but the game still is an 8/10 for me with respect to the genre.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director’s Cut on Steam is a definitive edition of the critically acclaimed cyberpunk action RPG that originally revitalized the Deus Ex franchise. Developed by Eidos Montréal and published by Square Enix, this edition enhances the base game with refined gameplay mechanics, improved AI, and additional content, making it an even more compelling experience for both newcomers and returning fans. It masterfully blends first-person shooter elements, stealth, and RPG progression with a deeply immersive narrative set in a dystopian near-future where human augmentation raises ethical and societal questions. The story centers on Adam Jensen, a security specialist who, after a devastating attack, undergoes forced cybernetic augmentation to save his life. From there, players are thrust into a conspiracy-laden world where corporate greed, government control, and the blurred line between humanity and technology form the backdrop for a gripping narrative. The writing excels in creating morally ambiguous scenarios where choices matter, encouraging multiple playthroughs to explore different dialogue options, faction allegiances, and endings. The narrative is rich with philosophical themes about transhumanism, privacy, and power, elevating the game beyond typical action fare. Gameplay in Human Revolution strikes an impressive balance between player freedom and challenge. Whether you prefer to approach situations with brute force, stealth, hacking, or social manipulation, the game supports a wide range of playstyles. The augmentations system offers meaningful customization, allowing you to enhance Jensen’s abilities in combat, mobility, or hacking to suit your preferred strategy. The Director’s Cut refines many of these systems, improving enemy AI to make stealth more viable and combat encounters more dynamic. This edition also fixes pacing issues and balances gameplay to reduce frustration without sacrificing difficulty. The level design deserves particular praise. Environments are meticulously crafted to support exploration and multiple approaches to objectives. Whether infiltrating a high-tech facility or navigating urban streets, players can choose from several routes—ventilation shafts, rooftops, or main entrances—each presenting unique risks and rewards. This openness encourages experimentation and rewards curiosity, a hallmark of the Deus Ex series. Additionally, the game’s atmospheric art direction combines cyberpunk aesthetics with a gritty, believable world, immersing players in its futuristic yet plausible setting. Graphically, the Director’s Cut benefits from updated lighting and visual effects that enhance the mood and detail of the environments. While it may not match the visual fidelity of the latest titles, its stylized look has aged gracefully, supported by a compelling soundtrack that blends electronic and orchestral elements to evoke tension and mystery. Voice acting and character animations contribute to strong performances, further drawing players into the story and its complex characters. A notable feature exclusive to the Director’s Cut is the inclusion of the Missing Link DLC, seamlessly integrated into the main campaign. This expansion adds several hours of gameplay with new areas, story developments, and challenging combat and stealth sections. It enriches Jensen’s story and fills in narrative gaps, making the Director’s Cut the definitive way to experience Human Revolution. Moreover, the improved UI and quality-of-life changes—such as better inventory management and save systems—address many criticisms from the original release. Despite its many strengths, some players may find that Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director’s Cut occasionally suffers from pacing issues, especially in slower narrative segments. Certain stealth or combat scenarios can feel punishing if your chosen build is not optimized, and inventory micromanagement might frustrate those less accustomed to RPG elements. However, these are relatively minor compared to the overall polish and depth of the experience. In conclusion, Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director’s Cut stands as a masterful blend of storytelling, gameplay versatility, and immersive world-building. It successfully modernizes and refines a landmark game in the action RPG genre, offering a thoughtful exploration of technology and humanity wrapped in compelling gameplay. For players interested in a game that challenges both their strategic thinking and moral compass, this edition provides a richly rewarding journey into a dark, futuristic world where every decision has weight and consequence. I only bought this game because it was on sale, but holy macaroni is it a great game. I highly recommend buying it, even if it isn't on sale. The plot is cinema, the gameplay is tight, and the NPC's are funny.
