A small game packed with charm and british humour. This reminded me a lot of the bombastic humour of old monty python mixed with the ridiculous over the top humour of cartoon shows like spongebob, family guy but all with British exaggeration and wit. Tuck into supper, enjoy some hotly toasted bread and love the thick yorkshire accents that permeate throughout this game because it will consistently keep you entertained for the 2 hour and 30 minutes it takes to beat. However, that comedy is really the only draw here (outside of the art design which is fantastic). If you do not find the humour funny within the first 20 minutes, this is going to be a badly roasted cup of instant coffee for you rather than the finely dark roasted cup of coffee it will be for others. Also, I did not really understand what the point of the game was until the end. Its final warioware esque sequence is brilliant at contextualising everything that has happened before and what the game truly is trying to convey to you. It's nothing deep, but I really appreciated that from the game and for it to be done in such a clever and funny way really helped. So, start up this game, remember to lubricate those funny bones and smile throughout as you enjoy this joy of a game.

Great game! Full of dry British humor and thick dialects. One of the funniest games in recent memory. A playthrough will last you about 2-3 hours. Animation is great, too, as are the voice actors. I especially loved the ending sequence. I wouldn't call this worth the $20, mostly because you'll play it the one time and probably not boot it again unless to show friends. I'd grab this on sale at $10 or so.

Quite a pleasant little experience, around 2-3 hours, and definitely a few moments that really made me laugh and plenty more that made me smile. Not super replayable, it doesn't direct you at all toward your next objective which can find you scouring the perimeter looking to see what'll take you (small issue, definitely doesn't ruin the experience), and at $30 AUD I can't say it's worth it at full price when you compare it to the value for money of other experiences, but it appears to be an indie endeavour and they're pricing it how they see fit to make the money work - they clearly put a lot of care into this game and that should be rewarded. It's a really fun time and some very fun, bizarre and charming stuff happens in this game. The animation and character designs are really to be praised in a lot of areas as well. Either way, you might want to catch this on a sale, or full price if you're not counting every dollar. Check it out! It's quite a charming time. I'm very glad to have had the experience. :) :) :)

One of the most Northern British pieces of media ever created. It's funny, it's silly, it's earnest. As a northerner, I felt a sense of familiarity with everything in the game, it made me laugh and feel right at home. Enjoyable if you aren't from the north of england, but a whole new level of good if you are. Great work by the devs.

What's interesting about this game's humor is how it's in everything. Of course it's in the animations, videos and voice acting but it's also in the linear game design. Game often sets up a situation where you need to finish developer's jokes by participating in them as a player and it's extremely hilarious. So I recommend playing it and accepting that this play on agency is deliberate.

Thank Goodness You’re Here! is simultaneously one of the funniest and one of the weirdest games I’ve ever played. Most of the time you’ll have a laugh about all the ways you’re fulfilling the city’s errands and in the next moment there will be a scene so bizarre that you’ll wonder how your life has ever gotten to this point. This is the definitive British experience. 8/10

Pros: + Visual style; + Top-of-the-line voice acting; + Hilarious humor; + Memorable characters. Cons: - The game is relatively short. A perfect blend of British absurdist comedy and cartoonish adventure direction.

If 'wry grin' were a game genre, Thank Goodness You’re Here! would be its standout title. No other game has more claim to being a proper British game. From dialogue packed with Northern English accents and colloquialisms, to constantly shifting scenes and interactions, Coal Supper spends this short (under 5-hour) experience building, subverting, rebuilding, and once again upending expectations—always hiding a surprise around the next corner. This brilliant piece of absurdist comedy unexpectedly breaks free from its cartoonish aesthetic, striking a perfect balance between satire and silliness.

I probably would have prefered a bit more interactivity, but as a joke delivery machine this game is a riot.
