After playing this game for about 90 minutes, I came to the conclusion of a few things. First of all, this game is great for people who haven't played any of the monster hunter games before. It feels like the resource management and the simplicity of the already established systems makes it pretty transferable to the much harder monster hunter games. That being said, I just feel the combat is too simple and not engaging enough for me after already playing some of the other monster hunter games. Not that I was expecting it to be as intense as a monster hunter game, but it just feels like I would rather play Pokemon or another jrpg personally. Overall, Great Game, just needs a little bit more engagement.

If you are a Monster Hunter fan or looking for a good Pokemon-like, I can't recommend this game- and it's sequel- enough! | I played all the way through the original on 3DS and was so excited when I saw it was coming to PC. The dialogue can be pretty cheesy at times, but the game's combat system is super engaging and it's story endearing.

At it's heart, this is Monster Hunter X Pokemon. It's Monster Hunter as a turn based JRPG where you capture monsters and they fight alongside you. Not the deepest story but it serves it's purpose well and is just straight up fun to play. Get the MHS1/2 pack if you can because you'll want to play the second one, as well. Highly recommend!

This game is what I always wanted pkmn to be! Engaging, fun combat that demands you utilize the systems and LOADS of customization. It is a kids' game but it does not assume kids are idiots. It's nostalgic and good fun due to its borrowed classic MonHun systems. I have a goofy grin the entire time I am playing. HIGHLY recommend!

Eh, 5/10 game Better than all new pokemon games in terms of animation, story (imo), and npcs that actually seem alive Unfortunate the battle system sucks ass, it's rock paper scissors but your opponent gets 2 turns, it also makes your hunter a liability unless you play certain hunting horns, which should not be the case.

ngl u dont NEED to spend hours and hours grinding but its lowk fun to do so 10/10 game!! played it over a million times and i could never get tired of it!! would recommend!!! :)

I`m breathless, need I say...one of best games I already purchase and played. Fascinating, intriguing, wonderful, and must to say, quite addictioning, but so amazing. The history, the colors, the graphics. It`s quite interesting, something like I never had played. Can`t wait to play the MHS2.

Look imma be honest, i first regretted buying the game because i had idealized it ever since i was a kid and it fell short, now i know why it fell short and thats because i wasnt actually into the game yet, it took me about 23 hours to actually like the game because i had finally understood what to do and how to do it. the graphics are amazing, not as good as elden ring or the OG MHW, but good. the story, Awsome, really interesting but kind of child-ish. the dinosaur/ monsties. I FUCKING LOVE!!!! so my point, if you like dinosaurs and HTTYD, this game is for you!!!!!!!

I rather this game over the second game a lot, because rather from making the attack patterns the type, and mix it up when they get mad, it instead pertains to the rider, the monster and it's type, as well as switching it up randomly really ramping up the difficulty if you are coming from the second game, the story is also a lot less linear, so far in my play-through I see why m father likes this game better over the second.
