I get its Early Access, but really nothing in there. most of time you wait your crappy jetpack recharge magically. There are few basebuild items. But few. nothing grazy. 16h or so you build your base finished building base, has some verry basic combat experience. Thats it. My opinion not really worth money.

awesome game. kind of like subnautica, but in space. graphics aren't as polished as subnautica, but well worth your money. last update for this game will finally put the polish on this game that it needs. it's engaging, fun and full of adventure.

This game is basically a less zany Breathedge, but has a lot of promise. Right now only the first zone is complete, but there are the bones of several more. Clearly a lot of room to grow, and what currently exists is polished and fun. Pros: - Exploration is fun and engaging - Building system is fun. - Story is intriguing and I look forward to seeing where it goes. Cons: - Combat is extremely basic. - Too many O2 bubbles leads to low incentive to build more than one base. - Literally just a copy of Breathedge with fewer jokes.

This is my kind of game. I love these craft and survive with a strange story types. The game is in a very early stage, but the notes about the updates seem promising. Very similar to Planet Crafter, NMS, Subnautica...you get the idea. If you like the titles I mentioned above, you'll like this.

At the time of this review, I do not recommend playing this game. The save-game state does not fully work. You can find posts about despawned vehicles, discovered tech, and space stations may not be there when you reload/die. For example, I launched the game to find all of my space station gone except one part. I lost the blueprints to rebuild it. Now, my save is missing the ability to craft the airlock... which means building another station is impossible. Oh yeah, auto-save is turned off by default... (lol) You've been warned.

Base-building, tool-upgrading, space-exploring fun. You can tell that this game is in the very early stages of early access. Thus far, the developers have made a solid platform from which to build an incredible game. I look forward to seeing what they have in store for us.

Here to post my first impressions review! (will update review once I've played more) Its not a secret this game takes obvious inspiration from Subnautica and because of that I feel its fair to compare the two. As it stands so far with my first hour and a bit of experiencing the game I can say that it does not have me hyped for more. One thing I kept thinking while playing is "oh this is similar to how Subnautica does it". Many elements of the early game feel copied from Subnautica but without the understanding of why Subnautica made these design decisions in the first place, so they end up feeling much sloppier and don't make a whole lot of sense. The opening is already very tedious and grindy and many things about how the game function feel less like there was proper thought and intention done and rather just that "hey Subnautica did this and they were successful!". But the biggest issue with this opening so far is the lack of charm and/or wonder. The opening environment has very little in it and is very dull looking, with no nature or animals and no interesting or unique natural structures, there's no incentive to just explore other than to progress through the tutorial tips the game gives you. The game in its current state feels more like a series of annoying chores than actually a survival game. Astrometica is essentially the video game version of "hey can I copy your homework?" with the slight changes being made to make it different, ultimately losing everything that made Subnautica fun and interesting. I think the idea of being in space rather than an ocean planet is really cool, but so far it feels like the devs should lean heavier into sci-fi themes and ideas to spice up the intro and make things more exciting. I plan to play more of this game and will edit this review if my thoughts change but for now I cannot recommend this game. [6 HOUR MARK UPDATE] Once you get through a lot of grind the game opens up a little more and is slightly more enjoyable but still heavily suffers from the issues I mentioned above. The world I've experienced so far is dull and boring, and the mechanics of the game are sloppy and annoying (traversing the world and oxygen maintenance are especially painful, expect to spend a lot of time floating around waiting for your jet-pack to recharge and having to pit-stop at every base to refill your oxygen). This game certainly leaves a lot to be desired. If Subnautica and its sequel are 9/10 or 10/10, Astrometica is a 5/10 for me so far. Will Update again once I have more thoughts and playtime! [FINAL UPDATE] Here are my finals thoughts after reaching the end of the early access version so far: This game has potential, there are moments and elements that are reminiscent of Subnautica and give that feeling of "I'm gonna do this next, then I wanna do this and this.... ect." Overall the game isn't bad, but it isn't great either. My initial impressions of the game have maintained throughout; - the world is dull, boring and feels very empty - the systems are poorly optimised and sloppy - a lot of annoying grind and farming My final verdict of the early access so far is a 6/10. If you're heavy into Subnautica and need something to spend some time on, you can play this. But if you're looking for a comparable experience in terms of quality, this game does not reach those heights at all. I may add more to or change this review in the future when the game is further updated!

This game is subnautica, reimagined, in space. That was clearly the goal it set out to accomplish, and if you ask me, it's done so with flying colors. They've made a game very similar to one we all hold near and dear feel like a new experience. Still pretty early in development, only like 15ish hours of gameplay (to complete like *everything* you possibly can, other than just building a ton if that suits your fancy) but we're on the cusp of a huge update that promises to add triple the content currently in the game. For a solo dev (with some specialist help) project, it's great. I've enjoyed my time playing it and look forward to the future. For now, 8/10, but it most certainly has potential to be a 10/10.
