Yes, this is more or less Subnautica in space. I love the game.
That said, currently the game is a gem in the rough (Early access).
Bugs and rough edges are present. So if you can't tolerate those, then avoid for now.

I love this game! I tried when I bought this early access, and it didn't go so well. Coming back later, I just took my time, getting as much gear upgraded, created, right from the first rescue pod. Don't rush it, but don't be so afraid to explore. Only thing I regret, is it is in early access. I love to play early access games, and have played many from their early days. This one, I want it all, I am afraid of running out of places to explore, because I am having so much fun.

Astrometica doesn't make you feel like you're in space. The fact they don't use basic laws of motion in this game means it feels like you're underwater but in a weird dimension, definitely not space. The mechanics and UI seem very close if not identical to planet crafter.
- chest storage is too small (wall storage so much bigger making chests pointless)
- early mining is pointless since you only get 3 mats from large rocks and use way too much battery (better off just picking up smaller rocks)
- Building is like planet crafting but worse.
Astrometica is like if subnautica and planet crafter had an ugly baby in space but not space.
If this is an early EA game then I hope they redesign the environment movement and base building...because they suck

I just can't anymore with these games where you have an airtank that's about the size of your fist and you'll literally die if you don't drink water for an hour. It's just silly. It's OK, but these goofy survival mechanics that have you running back to your base constantly just get old. Yeah, I'm sure you can turn that off but the default is to have it on, which tells me that's the way the devs think you should play.

Subnautica in space. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the music, the graphics, the storytelling. The gameplay was exactly what I wanted in this type of game. It's early access and I am already getting my money's worth.

You get materials removed just for opening the build tool. What the actual ef. Game has promise but penalizing me just for opening a tool? Strange design choice. How is that fun? Anyway, good luck, maybe I'll come back once the game has some options where I can turn stuff like this off.

i cant recommend this game in its current state. this is literally a subnautica clone in space but with 10x the laborious chore. i saw one of the posts criticizing the pseudo asset rip and how vile the devs response was, truly unprofessional. take subnauticas 'foundation' part and compare it to this, almost identical. no, thats not exactly a bad thing, i LOVE subnautica and replay it at least once a year. this game has tons of promise and i can see it being a great game, but as of now its literally SN in space with very little difference besides the insane grind even in the early game. i dont regret my purchase and i dont hate on the dev for taking so much inspiration from a great game. im sure the devs have a lot they still want to work on and i look forward to seeing what happens. but for now, i cant recommend it
