FINAL FANTASY XI Steam Charts & Stats

I'm guessing the 12 minutes I've played is the length of time I've spent in the playonline login screen. The in-game count is 4 days 11 hours 2 minutes and 26 seconds. I played at launch and got nowhere. It was a punishing game back in the day for a casual player who struggled to find a group. I did however like the parts of the world I got to experience. That was 20 years and a lost email address ago. I recently started again out of interest and am really enjoying it - although the client did need some config settings to be tweaked as they were frustratingly obtuse. Starting in my old city of Bastok and with the help of Trust NPCs I've got to experience a huge amount of the original story. It can still be punishing at times with quests and level caps hidden behind mechanics for which you do need a wiki, but I love the setting and narrative. For the moment, this is the game I'm choosing to spend my time with. I'd encourage the curious to give it a try.
