SHIRIME: The Curse of Butt-Eye Reviews

I'd give this game a "Neutral" review if possible. [i]But[/i] for what you get, I have to go with the Negative review. What you do get is a pretty decent "Slenderman" clone. It takes a fairly goofy yokai and leans into that concept, not being too serious as it [i]cracks[/i] some jokes throughout. However at the same time, it's genuinely creepy to be stalked by this thing while wondering around to find the 8 pages, and has a morbid ending I didn't see coming. [spoiler](and neither will our main character anymore)[/spoiler] [i]But[/i], the game is insanely short and ridiculously simple, giving a map to show exactly where to go, and having no unique mechanics other than simply running with infinite stamina as you grab the papers. Which would be fine, if it was a lot cheaper (namely "free"), [i]but[/i] as is it's no where near worth the asking price right now, or dealing with the obnoxious ads on the main menu. The original Slenderman game is free, and even offers alternate modes and unlockables, has unique mechanics with the flashlight and stamina meter, and an enemy that is tricky to understand and avoid. This has nothing but the base game as far as I could find, with no alternate endings, hidden details to discover, no randomization to change things up between runs, or anything to unlock besides a few super easy achievements and 1 REALLY tedious and annoying one. Try this if you like and it's on sale, just know youre getting a 30 minute joke experience, and regardless I'd still recommend playing the original "Slenderman" or any one of it's decent fan made spin offs over this. The fact that they're free shows they value passion over profit, and the results speak for themselves in that regard.

i think im immune to his curse... he's always hidden within the fog, you hear him coming but shirime's voluminous body nowhere to be found. sad :-(.

[b] The Good [/b] [list] [*] The game has some pretty good graphics in a somewhat large map. [*] Animations are well-made and pretty decent. [*] The butt-eyed man is actually pretty funny, love his voice. [*] Campy voice-acting and writing (I just like campy horror). [*] The game is quite short, you can finish it within 30 minutes, perhaps less than 15 if you're quick. [/list] [b] The Bad [/b] [list] [*] Very clearly ripped off Slender: The Eight Pages, the gameplay of which has been overdone to death. [*] The area can be difficult to navigate through, and jumping around can lead to getting stuck and having to start from the beginning. [*] If you use a controller, it is impossible to pan around the map. Essentially, [i] up [/i] on the d-pad brings up the map, but the map itself uses the d-pad to pan around, so you cannot pan upwards as that closes the map. Additionally, the zoom in/out mechanic doesn't works as intended. Note that this doesn't happen when using mouse and keyboard. [*] No-pause during inventory view is more frustrating than scary, considering the above points. Had this not been a Slender ripoff with bad mechanics, it would have actually been a positive. Just because Dark Souls did this amazingly, doesn't mean it will work here. [/list]

Amazing. 10/10. Eye would've never guessed what a fun game this would be, butt here we are!

10/10 best game of the year, really brought back horror into the light and made me feel like a child in a haunted house, buy it and never regret it

Stupidest game ever, I FCK LOVE IT! It's insane, like an open wooded granny but instead of slenderina or granny it's a huge anus mike wazowski chasing you down. I legitimately screamed out loud in fear whenever it would randomly show up and chase me. 10/10

This has to be on of the most beautiful games I've ever played. The tension when I was getting chased by this booty hole eyed creature was one of the most terrifying feeling I have ever felt in my life. I cried, I laughed, and I shit all over my set up. This game is hands down game of the year 2023. I'm looking forward to the sequel. I recommend if you want the best experience stream this game to your friends cause they will enhance the horror experience by scaring you more than the monster. 10/10 would butt again

So, I usually tend to be very forgiving about bugs, but Im pretty sure that what I came across, is not a bug and would love the devs to answer. In the beginning of the game, I can hear the monsters voice, I cannot see it, no matter where I look, and my characters just drops dead. I tried to run, I tried to use another path, niente. Once the monster is heard, my character starts dying. Is the monster invisible? Is the main characters butt, the villain, hence I cannot see it or run away from it? What is happening?

Extremely good graphics! If youve ever wanted to be chased by an one eyes anus this is the game for you! I do warn you the anus monster will give plenty of jump scares! overall though 10/10 games fun, funny & deff a good horror game overall. would recommend

This game was awesome! There is nothing more terrifying then being chased by a giant butt! Make sure you stare deep into its eye while you play. You have to get the full experience. I would recommend this game. Its a great way to kill 30 minutes and have a laugh at the same time.
