By FAR the best Stronghold Game! Every other one looks pixelated and OLD even the Brand New Definitive Version! Make more like this and ill BUY!

Very Underwhelming, play Crusader 1 or just upgrade to Total War.

I do not understand how Firefly forgot how to create games!Stronghold Crusader 1 is really good this is not

When launching the game, Windows' blue light filter turns off which hurts my eyes. Also, you cannot run the game in windowed mode, at least I looked for a solution in many places and haven't found it. When switching the window (with Windows key or Alt-Tab), the game sound is still on which doesn't happen in other games.

Everysingle mission in normal is like the ENDBOSS of the entire fucking game... AI cheats. Everything is expensive to make and buildings are made of paper. You CAN win, but everymission is just not losing the attrition war until you steamroll the AI real boring gameloop if you ask me

I am an avid Stronghold player and I've played all versions (multiple times over). If you are not familiar with the Stronghold games, they are a unique (and extremely fun) castle/army building strategy games that entail building a variety of ancient buildings and soldiers while you build your castle brick by brick or turret. Building your castle is one of the best aspects of the game since you are free to build the walls any way you want with wood or stone. For resources, you determine where to put wood cutters, mines and stone quary while you build your castle, protecting your valuable resources from the enemies. You are presented with a variety of challenges (example: do you build a bunch of apple trees or wheat farms on a small patch of green, do you build catapults or ballisticas to attack. It might be a good idea to build a wall of soldiers to protect your food farms, etc., etc.) There are a ton of variations on how you can win and bring the enemy castle to it's knees. This version offers the best looking graphics and most expansive set of buildings/soldiers/etc while the other versions are more like the original version that everyone likes. I personally like the Trebuche's in this version where I set them up just out of the enemies range (these are also in the Definitive and Extreme versions). After placing them just out of the enemies reach, I set them to bring down the enemy walls and structure piece by piece (protect them well). Or maybe have it toss a diseased cow or two into their streets and watch the peasants die from breathing green smoke. :) . Or maybe I'll send in a group of (very quick) macemen to ravish the enemy's buildings bringing them crumbling down ). Maybe there is a sadistic part of me that likes to watch the enemy yell and scream while they run around in circles burning on fire. The sound of them squashing from a boulder is too rewarding. You can pursue an economic path or a warfare path. The warfare path allows you to battle a pretty good challenging AI (you should save often!) Even on the easy level you can expect a good and fair challenge although I've cried foul a few times after I've lost for the 50th time (so I spend my days thinking of new strategies). There have been many times where I've built up my force of soldiers launching them against the enemy castle only to find that they have sent a mass force of "ninja" type soldiers sneakily into my weakest spot. Watching your buildings crumble at the hands of a bunch of enemy soldiers can be humbling. This will happen often until you learn to protect them. Be wary of a group of mass torch wielding shirtless skinny men who like to set your entire village in flames because you forgot to add wells or guard against their attack. The entire Stronghold games offers so many fun missions that you may find yourself playing for hours and hours at a time (or days upon days). It's not a complicated game to learn. Probably the easiest of all these type of strategy games. You do need to figure out which items to build in which order and every mission is different as you go down multiple paths. What you build and where will determine whether or not you win or become mincemeat while characters like "The Pig" continuously (and humorously) taunt you with "I will bring down your castle brick by brick" as they are destroying parts of your castle that you spent hours so delicately building. My favorite part of (beating) "The Pig" is hearing him say "No, No Pig not die" as a group of my knights bring him to his knees. The enjoyment of winning a battle after spending half the day building your castle is just soo satisfying. Hours become days and days become weeks playing this game and then I realize that everyone around me in the real life is gone. Oh well, time to build another castle and become the "Greatest Lord" again! One last note on this version of Stronghold is that the buildings and soldiers are a little different compared to the other Strongholds (Definitive Edition and Extreme). There are also new and different defensive and offensive equipment that you will enjoy. I like this version as much as I do the Stronghold Definitive and Stronghold Extreme versions but I do have to plan my castle building strategy a little different in each version. Every day I bounce between this version and the Stronghold Definitive versions and I couldn't pick a favorite. The only version I personally don't like and don't play is the Stronghold Warlords version. There isn't as much castle building in that version which I think is the best part of this (intense) castle building strategy game. One last tip is that you can navigate quickly all over the map using the WASD keys whereas moving the mouse is "a little tricky" (so the Pig says).

pretty good game took me some time to master but its very fun the AI should be a little smarter but i still like it

The Good: - Similar to last stronghold - Interesting skirmish The Bad: - Unites lagy or studer some time - Screen lags sometime and teleport your vision to another corner of map - Capped unit count - Capped building count - Buildings more cramped than last stroghold - Random crashes Honestly wanted to like this game but it sucks. It feels that this game limiting you at every step.

THIS GAME HAS A LOT OF BUG AND ERROR ! WHEN I START THE GAME GENERALLY CLOSE ITSELF SUDDENLY.. I COULDNT FIX IT UNFORTUNATELY. .There are a lot of bugs on the map. For example, when you build mines, the workers get stuck in a glitch and you can’t delete them. I’m not even talking about tower construction—building walls feels like pure torture. The soldiers’ reaction speed is not how I want it either. The game feels completely delayed. Honestly, it’s shameful—I never expected this, because this was the game of our childhood. I really didn’t like this version at all, and I do not recommend buying it.
