After using this software, I haven't had a single student fail any of my lava classes. Not even the liquid hot magma exam, what? Thank you Volcano Simulator!

I really enjoy this game Ive been waiting forever for it!! Some things I may suggest(even tho you guys just releaed it), add a feature / button that gets rid of the quick help icons, or an option that changes up the controls on the keyboard. Another thing I'd like to suggest is adding different volcano models, for example, Kīlauea, or Mt. Etna. Lastly, a little gamemode that sorta combines the features of Compare You Eruption and Star Your Eruption; and a gamemode where you build the volcano starting from the ocean floor.

Definitely one of the best physics-based simulators of any variety out there. For someone who is looking to make some fun little volcanic cones or someone looking to make semi-realistic research material, this is for you. I love watching cones slowly form then cool down as the magma drains elsewhere. One issue though, or many I guess.
1. Not a lot of tools in sandbox.
The game could definitely use some more tools, like a dedicated terrain editing tool, water tool (and groundwater tool, I will elaborate later) a fissure creation tool, and possibly the option to expand the "Interactive area".
2. More variety to certain aspects.
This section will mostly be on the sandbox or "Rampart" mode. Water would be nice, the ability to add surface water and ground water would nice, allowing for mainly more explosive eruptions, but also the possibility for geothermal features to form such as fumaroles, hot springs and geysers? True explosive eruptions would also be nice. I know this is a shield volcano, but you give us a dynamic volcano simulator and not expect us to ask for explosive eruptions?
Conclusion
This game is really cool and fun, but could use a few more features here and there, but otherwise is really good. All my "suggestions" probably wont be added, but I dont blame you, developing games, let alone something this complex is difficult!

Ok it's a great game for what it is, on the caveat that i'd reccomend it for most armchair geologists/volcanolosits/those into earth science processes (rather than general public at this stage).
I'm not sure if it's still actively being worked on but i have some suggestions for future:
-Make the "rampart eruption" graphical controls available for the "free play" (generate your own eruptions) level.
-A'a lava would be nice? while i love the ropey pahoehoe, seeing both styles of lava would be good.
-Would be cool as a slight tweak during fissure eruptions to see steam (plumes) come out of the ground first, followed by lava, rather than jumping straight into spatter.
-If possible, add new maps or play areas with more diverse terrain (either elsewhere around the slopes of Piton, or on different hot spot islands globally; Hawaii, canary islands etc).
I'm so glad this sim has *finally* been released tho!!

First and foremost, this is primarily an educational tool. If you're looking for something with exciting or action packed gameplay, you won't find it here.
That said, if you're a volcano geek who's been waiting ages for a decent volcano simulator, this is what you've been waiting for. I'm partial to stratovolcanoes simply because those are what I grew up around, but that doesn't make these shield/basaltic style eruptions any less enjoyable to simply watch and play around with.
I particularly like how a fissure eruption will eventually focus down to one vent after enough time has passed, as many real world examples have done. It's enjoyable to watch.
Long story short: Do you like volcanoes? Have you wanted an eruption simulator? Then get this.

Works about as expected, it is quite unique and quite fun to use.
I do however think some things could be done better such as the UI and controls as it gets a bit annoying having to use alt on certain scenarios.
I do recommend this, however for me in my opinion, and personally FOR me, not for everybody else, I don't necessarily have much enjoyment out of it 30 minutes later, it's one of those things that a person could go at it for a bit before really just using the software out of boredom.
