If you love Pixel Art or if just are curious about it, play this game please!
For me is a master piece, is not finished and i "spend" 29 hours so far and i have some draws to do.
The most important thing for me is that it doesn't only explain the basic of pixel art, beyond that it helps you to pay attention to References and in the projects it helps you to apply your draws to a functional games!!!
another important thing is the art of the game... its amazing and seems like a cozy place to relax the music is amazing and the cassettes idea are just beautiful( i hope someday the 8 bit classical music cassette )
Anyways I love it
I hope the Dev can finish this piece of art, he is a one man army and is a huge project

If you're not sure if you want this title, I'd highly recommend trying out the demo. While the full game has a Pinball project that greatly expands your freedom in developing whatever pixel art assets you'd like, for the most part the demo is an excellent representation of what to expect here, too.
As for me? I'm pretty happy with Pixel Art Academy!
The bite-sized lessons managed to cover individual topics in an quick but granular way, so it was never intimidating to start a lesson, and I always left a lesson or unit being able to describe what I actually learned. And since I was drawing something and really engaging in the material, I feel like I truly retained the material I learned! It's also not hard to skim previously completed lessons, which has helped me review some topics after a brief hiatus from the game.
Not only do you learn about various pixel art terms and how to apply them, but you also get to see the artwork of other pixel artists and try to emulate them. You can also have the system run basic evaluations on your pixel art to help you improve your line work, but the game also teaches you what the system is looking for, how to draw in such an ideal way, and also when you can, or even have to, break the "rules." Overall, I couldn't ask for anything more!
There are only two minor negatives that stand out to me. One, the ambient background sounds that play include an occasional screeching noise as if someone were pulling their chair out from their desk to stand up -- I eventually muted the game thanks to this. And two, the colorblind mode is presented in-game as a request for accommodations. It feels bad when all you want is to find that one pixel that's a small shade of color off in a challenge, to have the game "accommodate" that. But overall, these quibbles don't compare at all to everything I've learned while playing the game.
This game is a bit of a long-haul investment, as the dev is still actively working on making content for the game -- content updates are spaced out between bug fixes and quality of life improvements. It's worth the wait, though, as the dev clearly listens to feedback and goes above and beyond with the content updates. It's amazing that the dev added an in-game magazine to introduce old-school pinball table mechanisms to players so they knew what they were making for the pinball project!
In short: If you liked the demo, and you're willing to wait for the content updates, this game is absolutely worth it. The dev is cool, the hands-on learning method is awesome, and the future for this game looks bright!

very good, I already know a fair bit about pixel art, but this will probably teach me better things about canvas sizes, humanoid proportions and other things that I'm not so good at once they are finished and released, but for the moment, it's super relaxing and fun to do in my free time and I'm excited for the future!
