A nice small gem! Full gamepad support with Endless maps. Edit: Geat TD game!

Constant crashes, rarely manage to complete two levels without crashing out of the game. If the game was free I might have listed the positives to this game, but for a paid game that crashes this frequently I won't be doing that. Pretty much unplayable at this point, and CERTAINLY not worth paying for.

Took me a little while to find my feet with the X-Box keys, but past that point everything seems fairly intuitive. Normally don't like Tower Defense games where your main character has to run around, but so far (just cleared Level 2) am really enjoying the ride. Graphics are good, music fairly unobtrusive and tactics are to the fore. Looking forward to progressing.

Small People Defense is a charming tower defense title. The price point is staggeringly low and for the amount of content you get, it's an absolute steal. It's only in early access but the game already feels so fluid and fun! I am a huge fan of tower defense and generally try to play as many of them as I can and this is one of the better titles I've seen recently. The unique interactions between towers are challenging to use and the added strategic depth is a welcome addition. The first few levels I played had me restricted to only 2 towers but I still had difficulties completing them with 3 stars (you get ranked out of 3). However, this didn't seem to affect the amount of points I had to spend in the out-of-game upgrade screen to too much of a significant degree which I felt was fair and nicely done. You quickly gain access to more towers, more levels and upgrades. The strategies and enemy variety are great and I cannot wait to play more. I especially like how each tower has an individual targeting behavior instead of merely targeting the closest target. For example, the fire tower targets only enemies that are not yet "on fire" and as such spreads the debuff evenly between them, which is a fantastic mechanic in my opinion. The points you gain from completing levels can be spent on upgrades that provide more starting money, more HP for your base, higher DPS for whichever tower you choose and so on. They are also spent on unlocking new levels. The points required for new level unlocks are again fair and not at all costing the world which means the developer respects your time and doesn't force you to grind constantly to unlock things. The way towers work in the game was a refreshing change as well, they use a projectile based system where placement of towers actually has a profound effect on how efficient each tower is. For example, place a tower perpendicular and far away from the enemy path? You're going to have problems killing much at all! But place it in line or along the angle of the path? Now you'll be cooking with gas! This is just one of many things I noticed in the game that I really appreciated. The only thing I would like to see implemented is a way to toggle/an option in the game menu to see an overlay of what upgrade level each tower has without you having to run to it with your character and checking, so seeing it at a glance would be beneficial. Especially in larger levels where you may not be able to manage many towers too easily. The upgrades are represented already as each tower grows larger in size but this is sometimes a little obtuse as you may not easily notice the difference between level 5 or level 6. A minor thing to be sure but it would definitely be a welcome improvement. Overall, I have a lot of fun with the game and I hope to be able to find some time to play more soon!
